I was hopeing someone could suggest some more music like the artists I\'ll list below. It doesn\'t have to be the exact same style, just something in the lines of it, if possible. :)
Here\'s the list:
Our Lady Peace
Five for Fighting
Lifehouse
Counting Crows
Goo Goo Dolls
Thanks. :)
-
If you like Lifehouse then you will like \'The Calling\' They had that recent hit \'Go Whereva You Will Go\'.
You migh like POD, though their alittle too heavy for some.
-
Or Adrienne also by The Calling..
-
Yeah thanks, I had forgot about The Calling.
I also added Goo Goo Dolls to my list.
-
if you like the goo\'s then you would probably like the replacements. they rip off paul westerberg on a wholesale level.
umm.... I always suggest "swervedriver".... try songs like "the birds" or "the other jesus" "99th dream". Kinda catchy, but full of ripping, interesting guitar. If you ever played "road rash 2", on sega cd, Ithink, they had a song on that called "duel"...
-
Wow! Pussy music!!! ;)
Go to any music store and pick up about 20 CD\'s that were made in the 60\'s or 70\'s. Can\'t go wrong :)

Pfft, 60\'ies and 70\'ies music suck IMHO. :)
Besides, that\'s just what I\'m into right now. My music taste changes every couple of weeks. :)
-
Yah well, you\'re obviously a dick. I bet you love lots of 60\'s and 70\'s songs and just don\'t realise it.
-
I have a few - very few - sub 70\'ies songs. I don\'t listen to them often. :)
-
damn samwise, you like some ghey music
i thought all u euro guys were into death metal?
-
Bleh, death metal = ghey.
I don\'t like that hard stuff. ;)
EDIT: But seriously, I don\'t get it... are you gay if you don\'t listen to Tool, Incubus, or what the hell you young punks listen to these days? :shy:
-
Incubus are the most homosexually tilted rock band ever.
Tool are awesome tho.
Death Metal > Goo Goo Dolls
The Beatles > Everything
-
They\'re slamming you hard Sammy. I like that music too every once and a while. Usually when I\'m trying to score with my chicky.
-
funny you mention young punks
actually, imj an old head punk
i grew up listening to the ramones, the cramps, dead kennedy\'s, dead milkmen, minor threat, skinny puppy, etc...
i cannot stand what the media calls "alternative music" today
its all shit
the last album i bought and really liked was Soul Coughing "el oso"
-
Well my suggestions.
-TOOL
-Slayer
-Dimmu Borgir
-Hypocrisy\'s Obsenum Osculum that\'s their best album
-Opeth
-Well everybody suggest the good\'ol Cannibal Corpse
-Obituary.
These are the ones I\'ve been listening the most too recently.

Hey, check my journal (;)), I listed some good bands there.
-
Well I recently got Tenacious D - Tenacious D and Nickelback - Silver Side Up and they both rule. I will be getting the chillie peepers new one ASAP
-
Trust Company
-
Yeah, definately pick up Tenacious D if you get a chance. They\'re not really anything like the bands you listed.. but they\'re awesome in their own way.
I really don\'t know any bands that sound like the ones you listed tho.. maybe Jane\'s Addiction but you probably already listen to them. I don\'t really listen to alotta that kinda music. If ya like Jam Bands, check out Ben Harper or Jack Johnson. You might also dig Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies if ya like punk music.
-
I dunno about that, red hot chilli peppers might be a good one, uhh i dunno. Try some of these bands (not like yours, but still good)
KoRn
Slipknot
Tool (as previosly noted)
Greenday (Dont get WARNING)
MXPX
Sevendust
NOFX
Those are just some bands I like, that others like, but I dont know.
-
Hoobstank
Adema
Disturbed
-
Yah, definately check out Tenacious D. Those guys are ****ing hilarious.
The film clip for Wonderboy almost made me die of laughter
-
I have heard Tenacious D before. Isn\'t Jack Black one of the members?
-
yes he is
If you want one of their funniest songs, get "F*ck her gently" (obviously with a U instead of *)
Great stuff. Although the live version that plays on Channel V (Australian cable music channel) is better. Still hilarity nontheless.
-
Yup, I\'ve heard the F*ck her... song. It was a music video / Flash kinda thing. Pretty funny.
-
F*ck her Gently is tha Shiznits. Keilbasa Sausage, Karate Schnitzel, Wonderboy, Tribute are all good too. The best right after FHG has got to be doubleteam tho. The one where they\'re singing about both taking that chick on at the same time.
-
the skits are amazing, I really like inward signing, the just cracks me up and one note song.
-
You might like Bloodhound gang if Tenacious D is your thing, i\'ve never head them, but i might download that f8ck me gently song.
Oh yeah, a new sissy music cd came out, its dashboard confessions, its just guitar and a singer, i guess its like goo goo doll stuff. Matchbox 20 might be ur thing too.
-
Dispatch... they are an awesome band, not as well known as some of the bands mentioned but they have a great sound. You can kind of classify them with jam bands, and they\'ve also been compared to Weezer, the Chili Peppers, and Live. Any song off of their "Bang Bang" cd would be a good download, especially "The General", "Railway", "Two Coins", and "Outloud"
-
God dammit if I hear creed, nickelback, staind or any other pearl jam wannabe one more time I honestly think I will kill someone.
try fu manchu- king of the road or saturn V
or orange goblin
or kyuss
heaviest sh!t around. or just listen to sabbath. :D
-
I don\'t like any of those bands but they are nothing like Pearl Jam.
-
creed is not a pearl jam ripoff?
um... okay.
-
Great 1 out of the 3 bands you said kind of is. All I read was you mentioning Staind as one and I thought "what is he thinking".
-
If you like those bands, I think it\'s very, very possible that you\'d like the band Live. They were really popular in 1994 or so, recently they just have more of a cult following; I think a ton of their music is great, though.
Good songs:
Pain Lies on the Riverside
Operation Spirit
The Beauty of Gray
I Alone
Lightning Crashes
Stage
Selling the Drama
Ghost
Turn My Head
Lakini\'s Juice
Run to the Water
Face and Ghost
Where Fishes Go
They Stood Up For Love
Flow
Deep Enough
Lately they\'ve been kind of lame. Their singer\'s a big loser, though he does write some good songs.
And your musical tastes aren\'t that bad. With the exception of Five for Fighting and Lifehouse, those are some really good bands. I wish Five for Fighting and Lifehouse would die, though.
But at least you don\'t like death metal or music from the 60\'s or 70\'s. ;)
EDIT: Oh, and I agree about Dispatch, they rule.
While people are suggesting music that is nothing like the music you like, I\'m going to suggest Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. They\'re a contemporary jazz group led by a banjo player and the coolest bassist ever.
EDIT EDIT: I was just kidding about the 60\'s/70\'s comment, by the way. Some awesome music came out of those decades, like Pink Floyd.
-
yea I agree with M4, Pink Floyd is great music. It\'s what I listen to the most anymore... and Creed... they might be the worst band ever. Maybe he should try to sound like Eddie Vedder a little more
-
Thanks M4, that was very appreciated. I actually have Lightning Crashes, so I\'ll be sure to check out the other songs as well. The only thing I disagree with is Lifehouse being sucky... I think they are teh win. :p
But thanks again! :D
-
Hey, Bobby.. Sammy.. check this out. This song was on the same CD with Tenacious D my cuz gave me a few days back. I found the Mp3 on the net. (From the band\'s page.. so no.. I\'m not stealing it) It\'s good for a laugh anyhow. :D
Gin & Juice (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gourdsmusic/files/ginandjuice.mp3)
-
Yah I\'ll get that later on :)
And Staind are clearly another big PJ rip-off. Nickelback have some major influences from PJ as well.. but then, so do most alternative rock bands nowadays.
I would have to recommend the I Am Sam soundtrack. Beatles song\'s covered by today\'s artists giving them a new flavor. Might be your thang :)
-
dont know about all of that, but recentely ive been listening to a lot of greenday
