Title: Out of print DVDs
Post by: Animal Mother on August 14, 2002, 10:21:01 PM
I was looking to buy a couple of movies, but to my horror, I discovered that they where out of print! I wanted to buy a couple of bond films. All are out of print (well, 2 of them arent but not ones I like) Can anyone help me out? I wanted to know if there is an online retailer thats cheap that has stocks of bond movies. Goldeneye in perticular.

The Bond movies are all being redone digitally and with tons of new extras and rereleased in volumes later this year to coincide with the new Jamed Bond film Die Another Day.

Yeah.  The one that went oop a couple years ago.  Not the newer one.   It\'s the original oop that is worth about 60 bucks or so on ebay.

Hmm, thats strange. Here we have two box sets, with 8 films in each.

The first box set has 8 older movies, and the second has the newer ones.

not sure if all are featured though, but I am pretty sure most are.

They have been out quite a while actually, but I think they are redoing some or something.  I dunno.  I haven\'t been keeping track of the DVD world lately.

http://www.dvdtalk.com was my hang out for quite a while.  Great forum there and a good source for deals and to find out what\'s coming out.

I\'m not really selling mine either.  I don\'t need 60 bucks that bad.  It\'s my very own Mickey Mantle Rockie Card.  On a smaller scale of course.

Is hard boiled a good movie? I\'ve never seen it, worth a rent or purchase?

I don\'t even know.  I know it was going oop and saw it on a bargain site for 8 bucks so I bought it.  I\'m at work now, but I\'ll update when I get home.  I don\'t think there is much on it though.

IS HARD BOILED A GOOD MOVIE!!!!!?????

*head explodes*

1st of all , its a John Woo film made at the peak of HK action cinema.  Its got chow yun fat at the peak of his career.  Hard Boiled is the epitome of action films.  nothing can be compared to this film in terms of cinematic greatness.  well, except besides another john woo/chow yun fat film called The Killer.

oh, and if u watch either of these dubbed, you will be killed

I usually watched dubbed movies, it makes it a lot easier, than having to read all that. And outloud for my brother since he cant read fast :(

I\'ll look for them at the Blockbuster, or maybe even order them if possible.

I\'m shameful to say that I don\'t recall seeing neither movie (I might have, I just don\'t remember it). So tomorrow I\'ll rent both if possible, and if I likey likey (and I think I will) then they\'ll be mine on DVD. :)

Double negative buddy.....

I tried watching Life is beautiful for about 4.5 seconds dubbed.  Had to go to the main audio and read it.  Dubbing audio is just down right stupid.  I\'m so glad I live in America and I don\'t have to get movies in theaters all over dubbed.  That would suck.

I have never seen Hard Boiled either.  I don\'t want to open the dang thing.  I may just go rent the movie that I already have.

30 minutes into the film, youll forget yer reading

yeah, i liked watching Jet Li\'s The Legend dubbed with my friend, and they had a white guy do his voice over.  that was real cool

Yeah, that\'s what I was saying.  You totally forget you are reading.

What was this thread about originally?  Oh yeah, Bond is cool.  Go to ebay..

I\'m with theomen, you might miss something while reading. I dubbed voices are alright, of course they could be really bad in Hard Boiled.

I\'ve only seen one french film, it was Beauty and The Beast, it was actually pretty good. It had subtitles, and I read them, even though I can speak french to some degree.

Ouais, vous allez le présage, et ouais Samwise, vous êtes un âne du Danemark! Juste badinant.

Other extras on the Collector\'s Hard Boiled are trailers for several John Woo HK movies, an old student film he made in college, director\'s, film critic\'s, and I think producer\'s audio commentary...

Forgot what else...

And dubbing is gay and stupid...

My roommate recently sold his OOP copy of The Commitments DVD for around $75.00.  He bought it a while back but didn\'t even open it because it was 4:3 aspect ratio.  An anamorphic widescreen rerelease has been announced, but I guess the bidders on his Ebay auction didn\'t hear about it.  :D
