I found this article regarding the "Halo killer" by Sony
here:
------------------------Exclusive NEXT-LEVEL GAMING PREVIEW
---------------------------Sony Entertaiment of America---
---------------------------------------Introduces
--------------------Pre Alpha Preview- BLOODLUST: Terrorist Haven
---------Planned to be released fall of 2005, Sony\'s BloodLust plans to revolutionize the first person shooter genre. 25 year old, Scott Richards a brand new, fresh out of college producer, has a vision, a vision to fully immerse the player into the game, like no other game before. "This will be totally different from any other game you have played before, extremely original." -- Richards.
--------- BloodLust is planned to take full advantage of the PS2 and the Emotion Engine and PS2\'s Hard drive. BloodLust\'s development started in 2001, and will take the full four years to be completed. High resolution textures, heavy bump mapping, and very high polygon characters and worlds, will all be in BloodLust. "This game will trample all over Halo in every way especially in the graphics dept. "--Richards. Worlds are huge and expansive, with living, growing exotic rain forests that you will actually be able to wander through and explore.
--------- Richards actually got movie screenplay writers to make the story, Richards promises a deep enthralling story line that can even contend with the likes of MGS2. Not much of the story is known but what is known is that it takes place in year 2010 you have to assassinate the leader of a terrorist group, that secretly has a warhead that they plan on launching on the capital of the U.S. There are two parts of the game. In the first part you start off on the island of the terrorist as Dave Jameson, with five other team members on your side. You will have a camp you must go back to at the end of each day, yes there is a time schedule, a sun rise and a sunset, the days are as of now 30 minutes(7 am to 12 pm). Your objective is a simple one, but hard to do, you have to get to the heavily armed base, on your way you will encounter several terrorist soldiers, savage animals and savage tribe members. The second part is actually at the terrorist base and the time schedule is then turned off. You will have to rely heavily on stealth, sneaking past several guards at once and finding hidden passages.
---------While in the first part, you will find many journals of fellow dead members that attempted this before you. No you wont have to read them, they will be done in CG, these journals will reveal more of the story and foreshadow upcoming events (maybe bosses?). Your team members will not just be faceless computer characters you know nothing about, you learn more about them, there past, why they are here, love interests, etc.. this will be done with random camp fire\'s at night. Speaking of at night, things will happen, you may be attacked, by tribe members or animals, or new objectives may make you do some late night missions, though you may not feel like doing them..............
----------The Emotion Engine, no not the processor but something different, something that will show you exactly what your character feels. There will be three meters, a drowse meter, a scared meter and a adrenaline meter. When your drowse meter is high, your vision will be blurred, you\'ll blink, and move slower. The drowse meter will rise when you have to wake up in the middle of the night to do something or have night missions, or when you just stay up to late, coffee and some caffeine pills can help this(better keep\'m in supply). When your scared meter is high, you\'ll be shaky you\'re aim will be off, you\'ll sweat, you will actually see sweat dripping down on your screen. Your scared meter rises when you hear things you don\'t know what they are, you may here Screams, rustling in the trees, gunfire and other things, it also rises when your low on health. When your adrenaline meter rises you have a better aim and move alot faster. The adrenaline meter rises when you make a nice kill, sneak by multiple guards, finish objectives, etc.
------------The Voice actors in this game are going to be top notch, real stars will be the Voice actors, although no body is final yet for any of the characters. The script for this game will be almost equivalent to an R rated movie, when people are shot, you WILL hear swearing and a lot of it, to make it as real as possible, although your character will not swear, Richards will leave that to you. In fact you get to customize well.... yourself, you make up Dave Jameson\'s appearance from head to toe at the start of the game and whatever suit you choose, the other members will wear the same thing.
-----------Right now theres only a pre-alpha version, its not looking all that great right now but they 3 years to work on it, Richards, tells me there are still a lot more things in the game, but wants to keep somethings a secret and maybe will tell us later in its development, This IS Sony\'s HALO KILLER.
Cool, but damn that\'s going to be a long wait.
We\'ll probably see PS3 before then:surprised
-
By then the PS3 will be out, as well the XBox 2, Nintendo\'s next system, Halo 2, or 3 :/
Seems kinda pointless then doesn\'t it?

Yeah, by that time they\'ll probably cancel the PS2 version and make it for PS3.
-
i think this game will be scrapped or may face the problem of contending with the PS3 games, and just be completly over shadowed.
-
Planned to be released fall of 2005
lol, a "halo killer" that comes out almost 4 years after halo itself
-
Sounds great.
Btw, i dont think that any of the next-gen consoles will be out by 2005... IMO.
-
06 last i heard
Anyway, from what this info has said...this might very well be the best game ever! Sure as hell sounds like it....
ill believe it when i see it....it will probably bomb out.

2005? hahahaha its not even 2003 yet. Yup that game is so far off but who knows how it\'ll do till they release some screens and info on the game.
-
heavy bump mapping
 Heavy Bump-mappings on the PS2 Hardware? I had no idea.
Halo 2 comes out Winter 2003.
-
*yawn*
long time
-
Well, I certainly have no plans to get my hopes up for a "Halo Killer" that is released 4 years after the game it was supposed to "kill". Not to mention, Halo 2 would be like 2 years old by then and god knows what other games will be out for the PS2/GC/Xbox, and PS3 is just around the cornor in say 2006...great time for this "Halo killer".
That being said, game does sound great.
-
Well.. "Halo killer" - they\'re just using that title to compare the game to right now. It\'s not like they can say "Halo 3 killer", because they don\'t know what Halo 3 will be like.
Still, seems a bit silly.
-
I think this can be as true as PS3 info is. When they see the PS3 power, they will cancel the game in PS2 to be a launching game of PS3.
-
I agree. By the time this game come out, it probably be scrapped and better 4th generation xbox games come out. and this bloodlust will be scrapped to be on the work for ps3...shrugged...
-
It will be a halo killer. BY 2005 halo will be dead and buried by then!
-
This is bull crap ECTS is next week Criterion better show this FPS that its developing.
-
It also sounds too perfect to be made.
-
Dis is not the Halo killer.. Like Maka says the "Halo killer" (god I hate that name) is developed by Criterion (developers behind the mind blowing Burnout 2, Burnout 1 and Airblade) and they are a UNITED KINGDOM developer.. So they would go under SCEE not SCEA!
This looks more like a fanboy rant..
Stuff like this give it away:
"BloodLust is planned to take full advantage of the PS2 and the Emotion Engine and PS2\'s Hard drive. BloodLust\'s development started in 2001, and will take the full four years to be completed. Yeah.. Sure like they would put it that way  (Not saying PS2 cant do bumpmapping or high resolution textures)
And why the hell would they show a game this early?
Sounds to me like another one of those PS3 articles.
-
How many times have we heard this before????
Cool avvy omen, better than the ass one
/me is glad you changed it!
-
Is it out yet?
2005 is a long ways away. Sony is just hyping this up.
-
Seems like they are just trying to hype the game up. I seriously doubt them backing this up.
-
The game is too ambitious. It has potential if it meets all the standards.
2005 (Bah!)
-
This game is gonna be like Onimusha and end up as a PS3 game so I\'m not even interested in it at of now. Besides what\'s the point of a Halo killer when there are so many good games comming out anyway.
-
bwah-ha-haaaa!!!! 2005!!!!!!
-
yes, paul
2005, youll be what, 15 then?

can we pre-order now??? I\'m gonna run down to my local EB tomorrow so that I can be sure to have my copy the day it comes out in 2005!!!!
-
burned by a mod, now that sir is comic gold!
-
It\'s funny how none of the real \'professional\' gamesites or magazines have reported on this. Yet, somehow, the author of this 3rd rate website, who happens to sound like a prepubescent 11-year-old, has all the inside info.

And you\'ll be ...?? 95?? Can u still hold a joypad without shaking your hands then?? LOL.
Don\'t be a stiff mm, that is just plain ridiculous. Who cares about a Halo Killer in 2005?? What\'s so special??? If they can\'t make anything better in 2005 than 2002, than they better don\'t.
Anyway...what do I care...Halo sucks.
-
lol paul, you know i was joking
look at my posts in this thread
i dont even care about games scheduled to come out after this xmas. anything older than 6 months to me, is vaporware
oh and, once you beat it, halo sucks
:)
-
Yes, Halo sure does suck.
-
My predictions.....
the PS4 will be a PS3 killer in the year 2012!!!! LOL.
-
Oh ya?U havent seen PS12,23
-
Anybody remember that PS9 commercial? It was god-awful.
You had to sniff it to play it.
-
nahh..the PS54.2 is the best with the built in microwave and fridge and vacuum cleaner and toilet. U can also plug in the hair-dryer into the USB port!!!
The PS9 commercial does suck though...why do they have Bill Gates dress up as Mickey Mouse playing the PS9????
