so people are allowed piss poor (© ooseven 2002) taste in cinema
-
Yes, lets all bow down to mm\'s opinion. ;)
-
this coming from a guy who said road to perdition was one of his favorite films OF ALL TIME
ill wait till racer comes in here and lists glitter before i lose all hope

I couldn\'t think of anything and it was good so I listed it. Its not set in stone.
-
Its just MM\'s time of the month Bozco........ :D
-
no, i just take cinema VERY seriously
good cinema, that is
and why do people feel the insistant need to capatalize my name?
-
Since you take it so seriously I guess your opinion over-rides ours.
I\'m going to make it a point to see each movie you listed just to see whats so special about them in the first place.
-
Its just mm\'s time of the month....
Happy?
BTW what does it matter what movies people like. Its like saying "just because you like green- your a dumbass, red rules, dumbass..."
-
you really havent seen any of the films in my list?
wow.
la grande illusion was rated by the AFI as the greatest film ever made.
yojimbo is kurosawa\'s finest
wages of fear is a Henri-Georges Clouzot classic
godfather 2 speaks for itself
and pi. for a recent independant film made by a no name director at the time, its fabulous
if yer really gonna watch any of them. wages of fear is the 1st one to watch.
Salaire de la peur, Le (1953)

In the South American jungle supplies of nitroglycerene are needed at a remote oil field. The oil company pays four men to deliver the supplies in two trucks. A tense rivallry develops between the two sets of drivers and on the rough remote roads the slightest jolt can result in death.
it was remade as "the sorcerer" 25 years later with Roy Scheider, so if yer local rental house doesnt carry the original, you really couldnt go wrong with the remake
why do i care, spudz?
cause i like to see culture in people
i want better films, not the shit hollywood is pumping out every week now
-

That\'s gotta be some form of cheating ;)
-
I just saw the professional, and it was awesome.
BTW Dude wheres my car sucked and wasn\'t funny, and Varsity Blues was just moronic, anyone who likes that crap should be taken out back and shot.
-
mm, you must take into account that
a) many of the members here are quite young
b) many of them aren\'t \'seriously\' interested in cinema
So naturally you\'ll get a lot of "Matrix is teh R0X0RZ!!111".
-
Matrix is teh R0X0RZ!!111 ;).
seriously tho:
1. a better tommorow
2. god father trilogy
3. leon
4. saving private ryan (if only they took out private ryan)
5. face/off
these r in no particular order, i know their r others but i just cant remember them.
:)
-
Can\'t think right now, but The Matrix is one that I will never get tired of seeing..
-
While you are looking for good cinema , check out Suspiria (I know MM will agree with me on this),Resivor Dogs (Taritino\'s finest), Requiem for a Dream (not quite as good as Pi, but never the less, its good), One Flew Over the Cukoo\'s Nest and I\'m sure there is more. My taste isn\'t quite as selective as MM\'s, but I see where he is coming from. I hate ninety-eight percent of all movies made now\'a\'days (Matrix being on the top of my HATE list).
Oh and check out Wes Anderson\'s early work like Bottle Rocket and Rushmore, though if you see the Criterion Collection of The Royal Tennabums it is also worth picking up.
-
yes, suspiria is dario argento classic italian horror
