Post by: alienmagic on August 28, 2002, 07:38:59 AM: That\'s pretty bad, but I remember seeing an ebay auction before the Xbox was released where someone was selling an empty cardboard box (a store display that looked the way the final product packaging would look like), and the bids were up over $300. The auction description was very clear that the auction did not include an actual Xbox, only the cardboard packaging, yet people were still bidding that much. It\'s one of the most ridiculous things I\'ve seen on ebay.

The xbox I got netted $754 with 3 games

In my town of ~80-100K, our local Best Buy had _12_.
If what I\'ve been reading is correct, the next shipment won\'t
be until Sept. 13th, and then maybe March after that.

There\'s more demand than supply...hence the ebay prices.
If I lived in some small town, I wouldn\'t want to be stuck w/o one, and I\'d probably pony up the extra $30 for one on ebay...
