I managed to find the last NA at a bestbuy today. I get home and eagerly install and proceed to set up the thing. I forgot one minor problem..I have a damn usb modem for mi DSL.
Im not very pc literate or I am sure I would have figured out how to get online anyway.
Sooo..that is where I need the help of you pc guru\'s..what can I do to get this damn sony online?
-
we have a damn PC forum luckee! With loads of nerds, just sitting there waiting to prove their nerdage, and you post it in OT, you\'re such a bafoon. :D
Seriously though, I wish I could help you, but I have no idea what a NA is, maybe my brain isn\'t working...which is about the norm.
-
No one wa sin there and tons were in here, so this is where it went :)
Im a little anxious to play some of these guys in madden..and play some socom..so can you blame me? :D

Does your gateway device (DSL modem) have additional connectors for CAT5 ethernet cable? If so, no problem. If not, maybe you can get a replacement gateway from your ISP. Surely they do not offer ONLY the USB variety because not every PC has USB ports.

It sure doesnt, so i guess Im going to have to call bellsouth and get another type. I know they have like 3 different modems.
On a side note, I take it there is nothing that goes from USB to phone plug? Ive seen the plug to USb adapters but not the opposite.

USB to phone plug?
thats an oxymoron!

yes.

you could either
a. unplug the DSL line from the USB modem and plug it into the PS2 network adaptor
b. get a router
-
Just plugging the line into the NA didnt seem to work. It wouldnt connect. I did go through the auto selection set-up..maybe I should try manual.
-
hmmm, dajo was having the same problem with his linksys USB NIC
ill know more tonight when i get home and set mine up
-
I bought a router and I\'m kick ass.
-
mm his problem is that he needs a USB to Cat5 connector.
I can\'t believe they make routers with just USB. I thought for sure it was both on most of them.
You should get another router. Tell them you want to go ethernet rather than USB.
Do you have a Network adapter on your computer?
If not they are only about 15 bucks to buy one to add in.
Do they allow you dial-up service with your ISP plan?
If so then you could go 56k for a while till you get your new modem.

Yup, that is mi problem.
A router is an option eventually so the pc and the ps2 can be online at the same time..I just wanna play for now though :)
No card yet, but I guess I should get one.
Nope..dial-up is an addtional charge.

What\'s your ISP? I have comcast HSI ... and I just bought another modem ($70) and all\'s well. You should try the same.
