Whatever. I don\'t give a shit about baseball.. Isn\'t there a football game on?
-
Awesome. Now i can get right back to not paying attention to baseball again.
-
as they say on the score sportsradio 670...
all chicago baseball is good for is keeping our minds opccupied untill the beloved bear hit the field.
go bears.
-
Well, thank god they finally came to their sense. As in 5.
-
yep... no contraction, for now at least.
-
meh, really didn\'t care either way, but I\'m glad it\'s over so that it stop hogging all the time on sportscenter
-
I wanted the strike, baseball is corrupt. Fix the game, make salary caps. There\'s no reason NYY should have 144 million while Tampa Bay gets maybe 3 or 4 million. What garbage.
-
No no no hurricane. You don\'t understand. You see that\'s exactly what\'s going to kill baseball,that\'s what we want.
You see ten years from now there will only be four teams left,NY,NY,La,and Chicago.Predictably 162 games between 4 teams will be quite boring. And since the Yankees will have all the best players, including all the young talent from Cuba and the Dominican Republic(who\'s first words upon entering our country will be"We want to immigrate to the NY yankees!")they will have won the next ten WS.
The other three teams will cry foul and grumble about the "unfair" advantage (forgetting how they themselves ran out the Tampa bays and Minnesotas)and call a strike of the yankees.Well you can\'t have a season with only three teams,so this will finally bring about the end of baseball.

I think something should be implemented to keep powerhouses from being them for 10 years. At the same time, I think its rather fair..they create the revenue..why should they suffer and not be able to spend it.
Pretty much a loss either side you look at it.
-
revenue won\'t be like this forever. God willing the TV contract won\'t be through the roof next time. FOX is losing their ass on this one. Sports packages are always a losing proposition for networks, but usually they at least get viewers and use it to promote other shows. Baseball though is suck.

I heard about it around 12:00 this afternoon...I was almost certain those $$$ hungry ball players would force a strike.......guess not........ now maybe the indians can pass the Whitesox for second place in the AL Central to get atleast some dignity back..........and if the Twins TOTALLY tank maybe squeak into first....In my dreams!

i like the pic of alex gonzalez looking like he just farted
i wish they did go on stike and the mlb fell to pieces and only the stong teams survived and formed a new league with only like 12 teams or so baseball needs less teams less bad players and lower salaries
-
Yes, bring it back to like the 50s and before, prior to modern expansion. Lower salaries, fewer teams, better talent. That is how it should be. Ideally, the league should have maybe half the teams it has.
The only problem: what teams do you take away. Originally you didn\'t have all these west coast teams.
By the way, you know what event I trace overexpansion back to? The year that the Dodgers and Giants moved. That not only changed baseball by bringing it to California while ripping it away from New York, but it also is directly connected to the beginning of baseball expansion.
God I hate the Giants and Dodgers. Especially the Dodgers.
