Rotaries = good, fast, safe. The only problem is they take up more space.
Normal intersections = dangerous

this statement couldnt be more wrong, i live in a country filled with roundabouts and the only thing their good for is traffic jams.

Same here.... they become a pain in the ass. Especially when people are going to/from work. Give me a real intersection any day. :)

But they probably are safer. Just a tad more annoying too.

As for safer..Im not sure about that either. While I dont have any statistics on them vs. regular intersections. I would think they may be more dangerous since no lights are involved.

There has been a craze about making them all over the country the last couple of years, but I seem to remember some talk about how they weren\'t all that safe anyway. I don\'t have any links though... but let me tell you, driving behind some 80 year old who\'s trying to get into one... THAT\'s annoying.
