I bought my GTA3 around launch, played a lot, game worked perfectly. Some months later my brother lends it to his friend. First now I get it back and my PS2 can\'t play the game.
First problem:
The first loading screen takes ages to load.
Second problem:
The intro cut-scene loads, but the first beginning sounds repeat over and over. After some time a white box appears on the screen with text in it: Can\'t read the GTA3 DVD... or something.
Any help on this is greatly apreciated. (and no \'don\'t let your brother lend any more games\', I need real help with getting the game fixed)

Buy a Game Doctor and clean the disc.

Nothing like that in any shops here. I\'ve heard GTA3 won\'t play if there are a few scratches. The disc has some scratches, all small.

Should be. If you have a local electronics boutique, they(i think) would be the most likely to have it. it looks like this: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00005UMZZ/qid=1031014378/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/104-8340524-4963949?v=glance&s=videogames&n=507846 ....I also think Game Doctor would be the best solution/ you could be mean and make the friend(if he did scratch it) to buy a new one but its up to you.

Looks like you learned an important lesson about lending things to people you don\'t know.

I told you not to give me that kind of advice:

Turtle wax works alright.

yeah just clean it up.... and hope it works, if not do the swap trick...
buy a new one, then swap the discs, then get your money back.... that if the scratches are small enough not to be really noticed

Where do you live Echo? If nothing else - there is CD cleaners that you can buy at your local music store. They are not quite as good as the \'Game Doctor\' though. If you\'re dead set on a \'Game Doctor\' and can\'t find anyone where you live, you\'ll have to hit up online stores.
