I just bought The Thing yesterday and was up for a rainy day of gaming. I pop it in and start playing and I start getting a headache and start feeling sick.
This only happens with FPS for me. This pisses me off because I\'m a big fan of the movie and I think the game is pretty cool so far. This is the first time it has happened with a game like this.
What can I do to minimize this effect and is anybody else out there that suffers from this with other games?
Damn!:(

Like motion sickness or something?
-
Yup! Like being on a boat.

Have you tried motion sickness medicine? That might work.
-
Yeah, I think I am going to try it today. I use it when I go fishing and it keeps it at bay.
How freaky is it that I have to use Dramamine to play videogames.

Ever hear of these things called, "Sea Bands?"
I use them when I go on roller coasters and airplanes. I mean, I remember I used to get so dizzy and like, messed up whenever I did both, and I love roller coasters and airplanes.
Anyway, they are these 2 sweat band like things with a half a beed on the bottom. You put each one of these bands on your wrists, and the beeds are susposed to pinch a pressure point in your wrists, and they seperate these 2 nerves in your wrist? It\'s susposed to relieve a LOT of motion sickness.
They are about $5-7 USD at your local pharmasist (sp?) and are completly safe. I got mine at Target.
And for those still reading and they think they could use this for roller coasters, you should also use ginger pills. They relieve and comfort your stomach. Their is no over-dosage because it\'s all natural. They work a wonders when your hitting up a theme park!!

you guys are pansies
:)

Hmmm, maybe I should have waited for the XBox version. I bet it\'s the crappy frame rate of the PS2 that\'s making me sick. ;)
Thanks jm, I\'ll look for them today.

Keep your light\'s turned up and put the most distance you can between yourself and your T.V.Strangely enough Medal of Honor\'s bad frame rate didn\'t affect me but Max Payne did.
-
Thanks! I\'ll try that as well. If it doesn\'t work can I interest you guys in a slightly used game? :)

I\'ve heard of people getting sick when they see my thing... just ask Bob, he says it\'s huge.
....but on topic, I\'ve never had motion sickness. Not even during the worst of storms on sea (well, those I\'ve experienced anyway).

There is far too many gay references on this site. Did I miss something on the FAQ page.
I think I\'ll go check again. :)

Sounds like you have an imbalance in your testicles due to a dangerously low sperm count which is in turn caused by chronic masturbation.
Make sure you do 50 jumping jacks before playing and sit as close to the TV as possible.

Roller Coasters mess with my head for about a day. I\'m gonna have to write down some of these suggestions.

EmperorRob,
Have you been peeking in my windows?

huh?????
i didnt relise the thing is a fps......... hmmmmm no it doesnt do it to me, one of my mates suffers from it
some games let you turn of sway or something like that
-
It\'s not a FPS. That\'s why I am confused about it making me sick.
I\'ve never had a game like this give that feeling.

that is weird.. is it still doing it now????? maybe u was a bit sick??!!! maybe have the window open for some fresh air
-
That\'s what i was saying in my post.MOH is a FPS with a bad frame rate, yet it didn\'t affect me.But Max Payne,a third person shooter did.But that was a weird game anyway, felt like I was moving the rooms around with the controller not the character.

My eyes water when I play fast paced PC games but not on consoles

I never get motion sickness. I was on a boat that was rocking on heavy waves. I almost fell overboard but not sick :) BTW, is The Thing online?
-
:o Meh ! I only had motion sickness from a game once.
But that was becuz I was extremely exhausted that day
from the night going out before (HUGE hangover) :crap:
plus the fact that it was cold and I hadn\'t eaten much,
made my stomach turn after 5 minutes of Fur Fighters.
