I am thinking about getting a new game machine. Here is the prob.
My PS2 migrates from the basement to the bedroom almost every other day. This does get old ,unconnecting then reconnecting so on and so forth.I only have enough money for one new machine right now.I\'m leaning towards another PS 2 right now because of it\'s capability to play PS 1 games as well.I do want some game machine in the dungeon which is where company usually hangs out and parties. I need your input guys, x box or gc means buying games for just that machine, another PS 2 gives the ability to play and continue games upstairs as well as in the dungeon. What would you gamers do? Thanks

My suggestion is to get one of the other consoles instead. Though getting a second PS2 would make your life easier, having another console would make gaming that much more fun for you. I\'d say get an xbox.
-
hmmm get a second hand ps2 and put it in the place you use it the least
-
depends really... how are the consoles priced overthere? If you can get the PS2 at a cheaper price (perhaps 2nd hand), definately go with that one since you\'ll save money and it will surve its purpose well. If you\'re willing to pay a bit more, then perhaps getting one of the other two consoles wouldn\'t be that bad of a idea. I suggest checking out the games you enjoy and decide on either GameCube or Xbox.
Personally, I\'d be probably leaning towards a GameCube for the exclusives - although I must say that Xbox does interest me with Halo.
Argh.. I\'m not reall helping you out... :( Guess if you\'re happy with your PS2 and don\'t really feel the need to get another console (or they simply don\'t appeal to you), get a second PS2. If you go with one of the other consoles, you\'d be probably moving consoles again back and forth which wouldn\'t quite solve the problem... on second thought, it might be worth it... it\'s really up to you I guess.

Yeah, if you can get a PS2 used somewhere for cheap, go for that.
Otherwise, I\'d personally pick up a GameCube. Things like Mario, Metroid, and Zelda really interest me.
-
or you could buy a extra power lead, and connector to the tv, that way you only move the ps2, not all the leads....
but my ps1 messed up cos i used to moved it a lot, i mean taking round all peeps houses
-
I say to hell with another PS2. Get a NGC or Xbox.. whichever has more games which interest you and your friends. With two consoles in the house, at least you\'re current PS2 won\'t be migrating "as much". Of course.. that\'s gonna get made up for as your other console eventually starts migrating as well.
I would trade off a lil switching and moving components for the oppertunity to open the door to a whole slew of previously unavailable games.

I\'d go with koping\'s suggestion of buying extra leads. Sit tight until the next round of price drops hit then choose (it may be only a few months before all three consoles drop another $50).
Given your situation, my personal tastes in gaming would have me picking up another PS2 or even a PSone before either of the other two consoles. Mostly because I still enjoy catching up on a lot of PSX games I either missed or am not done with yet. Your talking practical considerations here and given the time I have to spend on video games there are enough games out right now for PS2 to keep me busy until PS3 hits the market. Seriously.
If the selection of PS games suits your needs for now (i.e. you\'re not hurting for new games to buy), just hold off with the extra set of leads until you find out for yourself whether xbox or GC has any must play titles.

I will look for a used ps2.The other systems just don\'t have as many games that I like. At least not yet. I guess at heart I am a PS2 man. Come to think of it, buying a new PS2 would still be cheaper than my old one since the price has come down.It seems to me that I heard on the news that sony lowered their console price overseas again, or am I wishfully dreaming. Anyone else hear anything? Heretic, you must be reading my mind.I must have been typeing this at the same time as you .Scarey huh:smokin:

I say get a diiferent console. that way you can game in both places, but you also have the ability to play games on multi-platforms.
-
If you only have money for one new system, get a NGC or a Xbox.
Don\'t waste your money buying something that you already have. Maybe it sounds like a good idea now that you have to move your PS2 all the time, but it won\'t be that cool in one or two weeks. A second system will help you with your problem as well.
-
to add to what Falgarok said, if you buy another PS2, in a couple weeks when you see a commercial for an X-Box, or NGC exclusive you\'ll be kicking yourself.
-
Yer actually going to buy a second PS2??... I\'m dumbfouned. I mean.. you\'re rationalle is that the other consoles don\'t have enough great exclusives ~YET~. They\'re investments tho.. cause you KNOW they will get great exclusives in the future and like Omen said you\'ll jus end up kicking yourself later for wasting the cash and not getting one when the novelty of two PS2\'s wears off in a week.
Dude, for the price of another PS2 you could even pick up both a used NGC and a new Dreamcast. Only 200 more (or probly $99.99 given time for a price drop) and you can have the Xbox too. That\'s ALL FOUR consoles this generation.. and gives you the greatest range of choice in games for consoles.
To each his own tho. *shrugs*
