Title: Trading post...
Post by: Mr. Kennedy on September 07, 2002, 01:50:08 PM
What if we could trade, sell, or buy games right on the site.  We could make offers, or see if someone has a game your looking for at a good price.  I don\'t know if this has been tried, or if it\'s more trouble than its worth.  Just throwing it out.

I like the idea.  Although I don\'t have crap anyone would want.  I could definitely see where i could buy a game for cheap,

It\'s a good idea, IMO. A forum where you could trade or sell games with other members... very very interesting. I like the idea.

Here it is implemented into a forum...TXB.

Click Me. (http://teamxbox.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=30)

I never trade any of my games, but I think it\'s a neat idea.

I think a WTB,FS,Trade forum would be a GREAT idea. Old consoles, gaems..peripherals etc.

I could see some getting ripped on of deals and such, but people could also use COD and other forms of safe trade like if a long standing and well respected member were to have some sort of consign service.

MOst forums from automotive to home theatre have these. Id be all for it.

my racing forums have similar trading posts, and they\'re quite popular.

I would only trade with the people  I talk to all the time.  Well, anyone but Vapor.  He probably would spood all over the disc to be funny.

I would only trade with myself...because I hate you all

I\'m bringing this thread back to life.  Aftrer trading a couple of games over at TXB and XBA, I have to say that a swap meet, or trading post forum would be an incredible addition to the site.  No more getting 1/3 the value of a game on a trade-in at EB, instead you can trade your beaten and disliked games for things that suit your needs better.

im for it, BUT i will have to approve of the disclaimer that states that psx2central.com, it\'s host, bjorn, clyde, nor I will be held responsible for any deals gone wrong

in other word, if u make a deal and get burned, DO NOT cry to us

so...when this is written and submitted to me, i\'ll make the forum

Make it in the disclaimer that Titan and Kopking are responsible for all bad dealings.  That would be excellent.

I used to trade cards online, a good thing to do is if your buying, use a check because that way you can prove you paid.  There\'s a thing called Mail Fraud you can be arrested for so I don\'t believe that anyone here would try anything given they have to provide a name(REAL), adress, etc.
Title: Trading post...
Post by: theomen on February 03, 2003, 04:07:50 PM
yeah, mail fraud is a felony and any type of rip off can be taken care of easily through local police.  So if you pay, always pay with check, or paypal, or something traceable.

I wouldn\'t trade with any passer-byers anyway.  Just the people who have been here for a while.  I don\'t have anything good anyway.

yeah, if I were to trade here it would be with the old fellas.  or if I traded with a newb, they\'de have to send first.

Costs will be a problem. If I sell fastson for example my finished BG for about 25€, and costs are 6 or 7€...
Title: Trading post...
Post by: theomen on February 04, 2003, 11:00:32 AM
by costs, do you mean shipping?  If so, that\'s just something we all have to burden.  I myself don\'t have to worry about it much, because I\'ll only trade with North American members.  I just completed 2 trades over a TXB, and it only cost me 4 bucks to ship 2 games coast to coast, with first class mail, and it was only 3.50 to ship one game coast to coast.

Post by: Mr. Kennedy on February 04, 2003, 04:26:23 PM
shipping is paid by reciever if paying money... if its a trade there should be no issue... but trading overseas... man get your credit card out.

I had somewhat given up on this, thinking that the silence was a way of letting me know that the idea was canned.  However, now I\'m as excited as a little school girl, seeing as though I\'ve racked up 150 posts in the TXB trading post over the past month (I don\'t post in their other forums, just their trading post).
