Title: Downloaded the Hitman 2 demo but I can\'t play it. Need help

Ok, so I downloaded the HM2 demo which was only 40 odd mb ( I thought that was strange ) anyway I read the readme and it says I NEED DX 8.1 so I download it and I still get a EAX DDL error, so I got to nvidia.com and download the latest drivers my my gfx card ( geforce 3 ti500 ) and I still get the error, it loads a black screen then it crashes with that error, and after it has crashed it buggers my card up and I cant play any other games till I have restarted, I have tried what I can think of and it hasn\'t worked, I was thinking maybe a dodgy demo? well Im sure someone knows or has had this problem.. Looks at MM for his help and wisdom * removes tongue from MM\'s ass * :D

EAX usualy refers to a feature in creative sound cards.
does the error occor after u\'ve begun the game or when u r at the menu selection screen???.
but what u can try is to enter the options menu (assuming the game doesnt crash at the menu screen) select audio and uncheck any button that says EAX (if there is one that is).

I just found out about EAX, what it is you get a config but doesn\'t let you change the sound, it says save changes and laungh, the screen goes black then it crashes to the desktop with that error, you must be able to play the game without EAX..

so wasnt there a button or checkbox with something like "Enable EAX hardware support" or something similar.

edit~ thats weird their\'s no audio settings.

I just posted a pic of what I have to chose from, that\'s all I can edit because it doesn\'t get into the game.

edit, lets hope so, I wish I could buy an MM at my local store, I need alot of help these days.

i was planning to download the demo too. i would like to know just in case i get the same error.

Just open DXDIAG and go to sound tab and lower the sound acceleration to standard. It is worth a download, I hated the first but this one is really cool.
