Where do you guys get good component racks from? I dont want to buy anything cheap from bestbuy as they only seem to fall apart or lean eventually from past experiance.

I was looking at this one

Im also looking for a good set of tower speakers and the paradigm montior 7\'s have caught my fancy. Any experiance with these or any other good suggestions. Id really like to stay under $500-600 for a set since Im not exactly deep into HT, I just appreciate sound more than a set of $150 towers from a chain..sony at bestbuy..etc....

Any links to reputable online dealers is certainly appreciated.

Sorry man, no pics as of yet since it is far from being completed since moving to FL. My cd player..cd recorder, recievers, eq, and tape deck are all still sitting in the closet. My only speakers are from a bookshelf system that Im currently using for *some* musical happiness. The vcr..cable, and dvd are sitting on top of the tv..and the ps2 is sitting on one of those speakers next to the TV :(

I almost bought that stand. I ended up getting this one.

(https://psx5central.com/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.doodmonkeyradio.com%2FPhilly%2Fpics%2Flastpics6-3-02%2FP1010041.jpg&hash=e3b5a701d92a35d42d778f8493ce1343f2bcf867)

I think it was like $30 more, but it looked a lot more stable. Pretty good design and quality, the top runner was mishaped and I had to fix it, but other then that nothing to complain about.  As long as you don\'t have very heavy equipment I think you should be okay.

Where did you get that from? I have also had my eye on Bell\'O stands, but most of those range $600-700, and even as high as $1500 and I am not willing to spend that type of dough on a rack just yet.

That was an option as well, but while I would be able to make a functional one, it sure wouldnt be pretty and I want something that will be pleasing on the eyes as well as functional.

I bought  a stand at Cambridge Soundworks that I think is pretty nice. It has real wood shelves and is tied together with giant bolts that kind of look like tie rods. It has a real contemporary look and is modular. You can keep building upon the unit as you get more EQ. I\'ll take a pic and give you more details when I get home. I think the company is Salamander.

I wish I knew of some pretty good tower speakers for around $200 each, but I\'m too lazy to wade through the home theatre forums.  If there is even such a thing as good speakers for that much $$$

My current setup consists of the front right and left speakers (tiny little yamahas) sitting on top of a couple of cardboard boxes.  It\'s ghetto.  I admit it.

Found them first on Ebay, you can buy direct or search on ebay for \'stereo rack\'  that should find you what your looking for.

But they carry the one your looking for a lot cheaper and the one I got too.

I like yours Ace, but you could make that stand for about 20 bucks.  Very nice and subtle though.  I like it.

I have one of the Bell O\'s that you speak of Luckee.

I lucked on it with the passion I have for my 5 dollar projector.

Get this, they had just built this display unit and put it on the floor.  an 800 dollar unit.  The glass alone costs several hundred dollars.  Anyway they miss-priced it and gave it to me for 200 bucks.  They ate it big time.  They tried to give me the actual unit that was really 200 bucks, but I buy lots of shit from them and they realize that so they gave in and gave me the nice piece.  Only problem is that I want the tower to match it now and it\'s 800 bucks.

Very nice and classy though, but worth 800 bucks, nah..  Worth 200?  Hell yeah..

Kirath: you have that nice equipment and it looks like you are using cheap speaker wire and RCA\'s.
Go to circuit city and pick up some monster cables and a monster power home theater surge suppresor. Cables will cost around 150-200, SP will run anywhere from 75-400 dollars depending on what you got.

Sara: you can get some good towers for around 199. Inifinity\'s.
Model number INI Entratwo.

Very nice sounding speakers.

luckee, I\'ve always been a Carver fan. I\'ve had this amp for a long time and I don\'t think I will ever get rid of it. It\'s a 250 watt workhorse. I also think the big analog meters are pretty cool as well.

Vid, yup  the stand could be made in probably an hour or two and that includes a finish. I\'ve built my own furniture in the past but I don\'t have any space at my house for projects right now. :(  Plus I kind of just wanted to pull it out of a box and set it up. :)

My dad just got a 100x5 watt reciever for surround sound. VERY COOL!  He said hes gonna go back and buy a reciever so he can use his Sylvania for a pre amp.

Has anyone even heard of a Sylvania?
