So here it is...

Racism is going down in America. New generations are now learning to work with one another. Its just groups like the KKK that are teaching their children to hate and it just makes me sad to hear about that. I\'m glad that things in America are definitely getting better.-Titan

Are you kidding? If anything, things have gotten worse in race relations since last year b/c everyone is on edge. Back in Chicago countless numbers of ppl were beaten and attempts at their lives purely b/c of what someone else percieved them to be..(arab and muslim)

As for the rest of the post whores..flame baiters and would be instigators..

Just stay out of that thread or make a new one if you cant be respecful in a memorial thread. It is that simple. If one isnt posting some sort of condolence or paying respect somehow..STAY THE F%@K out of it.

Luckee, whilest I agree with you, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

America is a free country, so respect others opinions and they might respect yours.

yeah, things are only gonna get worse

as we, as humans, become more racially mixed

the gene pool has been pissed in for centuries

How is that going to make things worse, when we can no longer see phsyical differances between people? This,I think,is part of the solution, and inevitable if and when traveling to the other side of the world is as easy as going to the nearest city is for you today.

Now I\'m talking about a 1000 years here.If we make it that long.Just look at what\'s happened to the integration of races here in America in just the last 100 years.

it has nothing to do with how we "look"

everyone "looks" the same to me anyways

its how we think and act, thats gonna tear us apart from the inside

individualism is dead

1000 years from now, we wont be pretty

humans are evolving taller, and with worse eyesight

our bad traits are taking over

at some point in our coil, were gonna be walking on our knuckles again, as our weak skeletons wont be able to support the mass of our bodies

darwin would be so proud of us

I think eventually, racism will disappear. But nearly every country suffers from the caste system. India is a prime example.

Yes, everyone is entitled to an opinion, I just think those opinions could better of better use in a thread other than a memorial one. 2 other threads have been partially ruined by that same type of thing and the one Im referring to seems to headed on that same track.

Thanks to a society where people can thrive while posesing no good qualities or traits  we have killed off the "survival of the fittest".  Thus, the people who would be dead normally are passing their seed, and creating not a gene pool but a cess pool.

Much like you said, poor Darwin...

No, that is good. See when I am actually optimisitc about something and it doesnt go through how I planned or at all for that matter, Im  that much more upset. When Im not expecting anything or the worse, I feel so much better and careless if it doesnt.

I hate to disagree but IMO you are talking about evolution not a regression of the species.Women like taller men, over generations we become taller.Other instances, over 1000\'s of years our(now unneeded) toes have become much smaller and weaker with the 5th toe nearly dissapearing. We no longer hunt so our strong depth perception has weakened. We are no longer exposed to the elements so our bodies are slowly becoming less hairy(o.k. you can insert your own Robbin Williams joke).

What you see is the enhancment of the features nescesarry to carry on our genes and the elimination of the things we don\'t need.

IMHO this supports Mr.Darwin\'s theory\'s.

Correct me if I\'m wrong, but couldn\'t this just be part of a cycle?  I believe people where taller in the year 1000 than the year 1500.  We then got taller again after that.  Maybe it\'s just a cycle we naturally go through, and we happen to be on the upward part of it now.

Your right women don\'t like tall men.And men don\'t like big boobs.

EDIT:No we weren\'t taller at any time in human history.We\'ve slowly been getting taller. It has accelerated over the last 100 years or so though. The reason, better nutrition.Womens(non-surgical) breast sizes have also dramaticly increased over the last 50 years or so.The reason, the pill.

We weren\'t as tall at that point as we are now, but we were taller than about 500 years ago.  I\'m just saying, it could be a cycle thing.  If there was a time in history when we got shorter, then why couldn\'t it happen again?

We\'re not going to regress, and we\'re not on some silly cycle. Our bodies will simply adapt to our new enviroments. Of course, who knows what that might be? All species on earth have evolved to compete against other creatures for land, food, and sex partners. What happens when there\'s only one of those equasions left? We (on the whole) are getting exponencially smarter as the years go by. Maybe not wiser.. but definately smarter. I mean, there\'s studies that prove this. Perhaps our brains will evolve to become more complex and assimilate data faster?  Maybe they\'ll grow larger or at least begin functioning at a rate over some 15%. Maybe all these years of typing and assembly line work will evolve our arms and tendons to accomodate for repetitive work. There\'s a lot of possiblities out there.. but I think we\'ll merely adapt to our new enviroment rather than regress.

Er.. then again.. we\'re still faced with the problem of living in two enviroments at once - one nearly completely opposite the other. = /

Oh.. and LOL about us being taller cause the ladies like it. Dude, if Mama nature knew what women liked, we\'d be growin 100 dollar bills outta our asses by now. The only reason we\'re taller is because we\'re not living off a diet of grass roots and dirt anymore. We\'ve got better nutrients and more of them, so our bodies can grow bigger, faster, and healthier.

Alright sonyfan fair enough. But I did say IMO.I have been looking at numorous sites today, and indeed at the most commonly refered to beginning of homo sapians(around 140,000 years ago) man averaged around 5\'2" tall.Today we(well anglo saxon males) average 6\'0".I\'m curious to hear any opinions on this nearly 10" increase in just 140,000 years. Are we doomed to become freakish giant\'s?What are we going to do about our doorways?are we doomed to have our feet hang off the end of the bed for eternity? :-)

I must add that at this juncture in human evolution man still had an oversized forehead, and slightly protruding jaw(think aboriginese) and still did not look exactly like man of today, this is just the seperation point from homo sapien neandertal, but this is considered modern man.Your opinions?

Here\'s a solution to our height problem.  As this generation has children, feed your offsprings coffee and tea and every single caffeine substance you can get your hands on early in their lives!  Hell, my parents gave me tea as soon as I can hold a cup.  I\'m a short 4\'11".  =P

That doesn\'t work Rya. I\'ve been drinking Ice Tea since before I can remember. I think my parents gave it to me in the bottle. I was drinking coffee at 10 and now I\'ve bumped up to Stacker 3 speeders for my daily boost. (still drinking coffee and tea daily too). I\'m 6\'1. My cuz was raised on jus as much caffine as I was and he\'s 6\'5.

I think a big part of it also has to do with all the growth steroids we\'re pumping into our foods. Have you ever seen a duckling the size of a NFL football?!? I used to cook em all the time. All the fat that drained out while cooking was all jus syponed out and put right back into their food with another dose of steroids. Good god.. they\'d have to stop the cycle and start fresh once every 6 months cause you\'d start getting freak ducklings that grew to the size of small turkeys! Course, we couldn\'t cook those and they jus went to waste.

I\'ll be that has SOMETHING to do with it. :)

SonyFan just imagine if they didn\'t give you caffine!  ;)

Seriously though, evolution takes thousands up thousands of years.  I remember watching Discovery Science a while back that said we will most likely not have mouths (this could be good ;) ) or ears and that we would get all of nutrients from the surrounding atmosphere.  We would also use telepathy.  Granted they said this was 500,000 years away - but an interesting thought.

The way things are going these days I doubt we as a species will last another 100 years.  Racism, hate and greed will be around until the human race is gone.  It is a fact of life.

Not really.. it takes thousands of years for complete and noticable changes, but the little things which build up to the big changes happen all the time and are noticable after only 6 generations. For example, our appendix used to be used to neutralize the bacteria found in food we\'d scavenge for back in the cavemen days.. and helped keep us from getting sick even so back as 1800\'s. Since the advent of refridgerators in the early 20th century it\'s been used less and less, and is now starting to give us problems. It\'ll be about six more generations before we start to notice it receding I\'ll bet.

At least there\'s SOMETHING I can agree with. :) I\'m jus a shade more optimistic. I give us around 500 years or so. We definately won\'t make it past the next millenium at this pace tho.

Around where I live, there isn\'t any racism. I\'ve noticed that the rate of racism is going down among common people. I wasn\'t really talking about the cities, I was talking about America as a whole. I see that things are starting to settle down.
