Just in case you\'re interested, I posted a while back that certain sites especially this on was crashing IE. I decided to download Ad-aware from Lavasoft and it came up with 42 pieces of spyware (Kazza = Scumbags).
Well I got rid of the spyware and no more crashing.
Thought you might want to know.

Agreed!
I just tried Kazaa lite and there\'s a piece of spyware imbedded as well. Screw it, I\'ll end up downloading a virus anyway.

I just deleted kazaa meself. I think I got a trojan \'cos the old bird\'s been slowing down and shouldn\'t be (amd 1800 + 512 ram)
(it\'s promly just mm h4xoring my shit.... ;) )
gonna hafta try cleaning up the mess I made with kazaa. Any suggestions?

I don\'t know if this will help but once I downloaded a virus that was quickly eating up many of my files. I downloaded a free version of Norton Anti Virus (I think that was it) and it stopped it in it\'s tracks. Not sure if this applies to a trojan.
Here\'s a free program that I use on some of my computers. Click here! (http://www.grisoft.com)

Thanks, how much room does it take up?
-
I think the program is pretty small. 1mb or less I think.
-
Yes it is small, and very useful. I use it once a week to make sure I haven\'t got any spyware crap.
-
Thanks for posting these helpful programs!:)
My computer has been acting strange lately...probably that damn Kazaa. Who knows what that program has done to my CPU...:sconf:

Kazaa Lite even has spyware now.
-
What is the point of spy ware?
-
I believe it tracks your whereabouts on the net.
-
And they email you ads too, right? Maybe that would explain why I got porn in my Hotmail box ;)
-
Bastards...they e-mail ads too? So thats where all that junk as been coming from...
-
now I know why Vapor Snakes hotmail account was filled with gay porn.
-
Spyware also = loads more ad popups while surfing the net.

No it does not.. Thats file in KaZaA Lite makes KaZaA work.
What it says in the FAQ:
Both the Original KaZaA and KaZaA Lite (because KaZaA Lite has to work exactly the same as the Original KaZaA) actually check for CyDoor on your machine and will not run without it. However, KaZaA Lite gets around this by installing a dummy version of CyDoor, which appears correct to KaZaA, but does not serve the adverts, meaning they don\'t appear in KL. It also stops random pop-ups from appearing while you\'re using KL. This dummy version of CyDoor is from a group called Counterexploitation (CEXX).

OK, thanks for the correction.
But then again, how can we really be sure? It is called spyware after all. :)

They even recommend AdAware on their site. But they say you should not delete the dummy file or else KaZaA Lite wont work.
Btw, thanks for reminding me. I forgot to install AdAware on my new system.. It has already found 14 spyware-files :rpissed:
