while playing pc games online, when someone with a high ping say 400+ joins a server filled with people with pings of 150 and below will the high pinger lag everyone else on the server or cause the server to lag????
-
It can yes, Some servers on certain games try to even up the odds.. I don\'t bother playing online gamin cause i\'m in aus and on dialup.

i think i shoul\'ve wrote it different, what i meant was will it cause the others to freeze then appear some where else than freeze again.

yes, That\'s what i\'m saying.. Depending on how the server is setup.. It can drop the pings on everyone else to even up the odds.. Hense everyone starts to get HUGE LAG. The only thing i ever do these days is lan partys. I hate lag.

well u see i usually have a high ping and it dosent matter where the server is infact the closer the server the higher the ping .
so i joined a server and the dudes there had a ping of 90 and below and just suddenly a round later some byatches start whining about my ping and how its lagging them (mind u that persons ping was about 70 and it never went above that) then i get kicked out (those bastards  ).
so thats why i asked my question just to know whether the person was only complaining coz he kept getting killed or coz i was actually lagging him.

pings are not based on highest common denominators
yer high ping has little effect on other players
the players on that server just wanted to whine and act like they knew WTF they were talking about

What you just described is called LAG. It happens to everybody at some point. What happens is you are inputting signals client-side that are outrunning the server-side returned data.
