Post by: §ôµÏG®ïñD on September 20, 2002, 03:29:01 AM
Yep. I\'ve decided to get a NEW Graphics card. Gonna get a Leadtek GF4Ti4400 and overclock this beast to a Ti4600.

Here\'s some pics.

Don\'t bother about specs cause all Gf4Ti4400 cards are pretty much the same. But if u do want specs i\'ll give u them. What do u guys think. :)

If not this one, i\'ll get a MSI CARD..  Anythings better then this.

Very nice.. MSI, Leadtek, Asus and ABit are the card makers i tend to lean towards. Used to be Hercules and Creative.. but they no longer work with geforce series cards. :(

As far as I know. The MSI Ti4400 has ghosting problems with it.
Not sure about the ti4200 series.
As far as I know it has an Integrated TV Encoder Supporting 1024x768 Resolution. So if it\'s not for a TV tuner. It’s got to be for the TV out. :)

Ahh visiontek.. American owned too, if I’m not mistaken. good card. Ti4600 too.. Nice and pricey. I\'ll overclock mine to it.. Going to add a fan to the backside sink. hehe.

*almost* 4600 speeds is a loose statement

the 4600 is 35$ more, why settle for a 2nd place card?

Cause if i can overclock this card too 4600.. (which i can and will) i save 70 bucks for something else.

doubt i\'ll burn it out. Check toms hardware guide they did it with out any problems. I\'m gonna add a fan to the backside sink. Too keep it even more cooler. They over clocked it without modding it at all.

I\'m still leaning towards the Radeon 9700 pro.  My GeForce 2 GTS sucks ass in the Unreal 2003 demo:(

i swear none reads my posts..

go to TOMS HARDWARE GUIDE.. They tested around 21 Geforce4 cards.. The one i\'m after being one of them. They OVERCLOCKED the cards with the best results.. MSI and Leadtek came out on top above all the others. This card also covers the memory chips with the sink.. the back of the card has a sink, i\'m gonna be adding a 30 doller ballbearing fan to it... this thing will work fine...

I ran the UT2003 demo on mine and it is good! little bit of slowdown.......but it is very miniscule...usually right in the beginning.....

mm, try reading once in your life.. i said 30. I\'ve already got the fan. I\'ve got heaps of fans. It\'s worth 30, that\'s 15usd. You understanding yet?  Remember i pay for wholesale items. not retail. :)

There\'s quite some price difference between a Ti4400 and a Ti4600 anyway.

http://www.cworld.com.au/prod.php?CAT=Video%20card&SUBCAT=null   there\'s a hint of the australian difference..

Quote

 Leadtek Winfast 128M GeForce4 Ti4400   $468.27
 Leadtek Winfast 128M GeForce4 Ti4600   $590.48
Even though these are retail. It gives me a idea of the price..  HOPEFULLY i can get a ti4600 for under 500. But till i find out the prices i don\'t know.  Right now the Ti4400 is looking good to me.. wholesale i could get it for around 350 bucks, that\'s pretty cheap. :)

im sorry man, but yer economy is fux0red

yer best bet would be to wait and save up for the next gen video cards

we\'ve got the best economy in the world. So they say, These cards are cheap to the working man.. but i\'m not working as of yet. I can\'t be bothered saving for the next gen cards, they will probably be around 800 bucks.. I always wait atleast 1 year before getting a card... Normaly i get cards that don\'t need updating for around that long, but i brought the MX card, mainly so lisa would have a gfx card for her comp. My gfx was outdated before i brought it..  Remember, We get more cash then you americans.. but everything here is twice as expensive. I used to make around 17 dollers a hour. Most americans as far as i know, make 6 dollers a hour.. Something like that. Once i finsh my electronics degree. I\'ll be making 40 to 50 a hour.

far from the best economy, just look at the exchange rates

but anyways, buy whatever makes you feel happy
anything we purchase is obsolete the next day anyways

i could get teh new series card.. 3 months later.. a new one will come out.. i just get a new card 1 every year. Although i got the mx card in may this year.. it was REALLY outdated when i brought it.. :(

Ps, another guy that\'s overclocked the card without any problems.

good for you, but yer seriously mistaken if you think every board will achieve results like that

welp, 3 out of 3 sites saying they had no overclocking problems, gives me pretty good odds. Even so, the difference between a ti4600 and ti4400 is like 5 to 10fps. Not really worth 100 more bucks.. But as i said, if i can get a ti4600 card for under 500. I will.

And what exactly do you NEED this card for?

Is it really going to make a game run 500 dollars better?

I love how you guys upgrade crap whenthere really is no need.
