I could have merged this with the NFL thread, but I feel this is a topic that can evolve into other things and I didn\'t want the NFL thread to be submerged in it. (<--Longest...sentence...ever...)
Anyways:

Randy Moss was arrested on Tuesday after his car hit a police officer. The female officer was unharmed, but was knocked to the ground. A witness told WCCO-TV, "The traffic lady was resting upon the car. As the car was moving she was walking, you know, like she was trying to slow it down or something. Then he tried to speed up a little bit or whatever, and she fell. And she almost fell up under the car. And then he stopped. And then she got up off the ground, and she called. And the quickest thing I ever seen was those cops turn the corner. They were here on the spot."
The implications of this story range from nothing to severe. If the police see it as a mistake, Moss will likely have no consequences. Alternately, if the police view it as an intentional act, Moss could be in serious trouble. The wheels of justice turn very slowly, so it is unlikely that this incident will keep Moss off the field at any point this year.
I hate Moss. I hope he\'s arrested and meets Bubba. He needs to come back down to earth.
-
Your an idiot Vapor. Saying you hate him just because his attitude while playing football. Have you met the guy before? ...Yea
And with it being against a cop Moss is screwed.
-
I myself being a huge viking fan actually hate moss with a passion. He is a big loser.
Bubba.... lol
-
Cowboys turned him down since he was in prison, looks like they were right for doing so.
-
Bozco this isn\'t Moss\' first run in with the law. And I think its safe to make any assumption after watching this guys\' on-field antics. He\'s one of the most selfish and cocky players in the league. This is the best thing for him, he was in desperate need for a reality check.
-
well I hate Moss, but I don\'t really want to see him go to prison...unless this truly was intentional.
-
Oh well, maybe having a trial will straighten him out but I don\'t think a jail term is something you wish on somebody you don\'t know.
-
Randy Moss should really just die. The Vikings would be so much better off.
-
Ok, it gets more interesting, here\'s a better article than that lousy eye witness account:
-Yahoo
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Minnesota Vikings receiver Randy Moss was arrested Tuesday after being accused of bumping a traffic control agent with his car. ADVERTISEMENT
The agent tried to stop Moss from making an illegal turn, and Moss used his car to slowly push the officer a half-block along the street, stopping when she fell to the ground, police spokeswoman Cyndi Barrington said.
Barrington said the agent, a city employee but not a police officer, was not seriously hurt.
Moss was in jail on suspicion of assault with a dangerous weapon, a felony. Barrington said the county attorney would consider charges Wednesday, and it was unclear whether Moss would be allowed to post bail Tuesday night.
Noticed what I italicized... Looks like Moss is screwed.
``He\'s going to be treated like anybody else,\'\' Barrington said.
Vikings coach Mike Tice said he couldn\'t comment until he knew more.
"I\'m still trying to figure out what\'s going on,\'\' Tice said.
Moss has been in trouble before on and off the field since he was drafted in 1998. He squirted a referee with a water bottle in 1999, and abused corporate sponsors on the team bus in 2001.
-
Good. I hope this time he gets more than a slap on the wrist for it too.
-
randy moss acts like a monkey.
-
He will come out unscathed..or relatively so.
-
they all do...
-
All I know is that his last name is gay. Moss. lol
-
ESPN said he has been charged with -2nd degree felony assault-
He\'ll probably just get probation or community service

Vikings wide receiver Randy Moss was released from jail today and will be charged with two misdemeanors following yesterday\'s incident in which he allegedly drove his car into a traffic patrol. The Associated Press reported this afternoon that Minneapolis Police also found a small amount of marijuana in Moss\'s car. It was apparently enough to qualify as a petty misdemeanor. No charges were immediately filed relating to the marijuana possession, however. "You\'ll hear my side later,\'\' Moss told the AP. "I was treated bad.\'\' A decision has not been reached on whether Moss will play this Sunday in Seattle.
Fanball\'s view: We have no idea if Moss has ever broken the league\'s substance abuse policy before because the NFL does not make that public. If he has, however, and the league deems this a second violation, Randy could be facing a suspension of four games. Again, this is merely speculation, but something for fantasy players to keep in mind as they make backup plans.
-
See, THIS is why I drafted T.O. in the Fantasy Football league over Moss - this kind of bullshit.
Then again, T.O. has been underachieving, too. Blah.
See Yuz.
-
Moss is for sure not playing this Sunday though.
-
They lose with him, maybe they\'ll win without him.
-
UNless that substance use proves to be positive, I dont think they should bench him a game for this reason..what happens outside of the NFL should stay outside.
-
Bah... He\'s playing Sunday.

The Minnesota Vikings announced on Wednesday that Randy Moss will start against the Seattle Seahawks this weekend, according to the Associated Press.
The team will reportedly discipline Moss for missing part of Wednesday\'s practice.
"I\'m still disappointed,\'\' Tice told the AP. "This doesn\'t change the fact that we\'ve been dealing with this for the last 24 hours, that I slept very little last night and I ate a half a jar of Maalox.\'\'
Moss was arrested Tuesday night during rush hour in downtown Minneapolis and was held in a Hennepin County jail overnight before his release on Wednesday afternoon. The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Moss will be charged by the Minneapolis City Attorney\'s Office with two misdemeanors, careless driving and failing to obey a traffic agent.
The AP also reports Minneaplois Police found a small amount of marijuana in Moss\'s car--enough to qualify as a petty misdemeanor. No charges were immediately filed relating to the marijuana possession, however.
"You\'ll hear my side later,\'\' Moss told the AP. "I was treated bad.\'\'
According to the police complaint, the incident took place at 5:22 PM Tuesday. Moss attempted to turn right onto Marquette Ave. in Minneapolis from a lane whose traffic was supposed to keep going straight. When traffic control agent, Amy Elizabeth Zaccardi, ordered him to stop, he ignored her and gradually continued. Witnesses then say Zaccardi turned and sat on the hood of Moss\' vehicle and he slowly proceeded for about half a block before stopping. Zaccardi fell to the street on her face and sustained minor injuries.
Minneapolis police were on the scene almost immediately and Moss did not resist arrest. "He is going to be treated no different than anybody else as far as the Minneapolis Police Department is concerned," spokeswoman Cyndi Barrington told the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Even though Moss is playing this weekend, it doesn\'t mean he is out of the woods yet. The Vikings could decide to suspend the wide receiver following this weekend\'s game.
Darns it.

On another note..while not excusing him if this is all true..but she is rather stupid. She shouldnt have sat on the car period..its called respect.

It\'s not their jobs to be role models whether they are forced into that position or not. That is the job of the parents.

well if she sat on my car, I can\'t honestly say that I wouldn\'t run her ass over. Damn that would piss me off.

Moss is a screw-up. He has the potential to be as good if not better than Jerry Rice, but he doesn\'t care. He got his money, now he can go half-assed. Too bad they can\'t trade him.
