Who do ya\'ll think is the funniest person in the world?
For mine, it would have to be Robin Williams, no doubt about it. While he\'s not the best stand up ever (although he IS great) he is just so spontaneous and has charisma that other comedians wouldn\'t dare dream of. I never miss watching an interview with him when possible :)
Anyways, who does everyone here like?
-
Eh, I never thought Robin Williams was funny at all.But I love him in most of his serious roles like good will hunting and the fisher king.Go figure.
I think Dave Chapelle is hillarious though. His "killing them softly" standup concert was about the funniest thing I\'ve ever seen.
-
well, the funniest ever Stand-up performance I\'ve ever seen is EASILY Eddy Murphy\'s Delerious. Pure genius. I like to laugh a LOT, all of my friends and that base our whole lives around laughing, but I don\'t think I\'ve ever laughed as consistantly hard for such a long time outside of Delerious.
-
It would be hard to pick a favorite but Dana Carvey Robin Williams Jack Black and there\'s more but can\'t think of them all.
-
Jack Black
Rik Mayle
Eddie ( From bottom )
Jim Davidson
Jack Dee
Lee Evens
-
man this is a tough question, ive always been a big dana carvey fan so right off the top of my head i would have to say him. but also bill cosby has some seriously funny albums from back in the day. richard prior too.
-
Dennis Leary...he hates everthing
-
Chris Farley? Hell, I don\'t know. There are many funny people out there, but none of them really come to mind as being THE funniest.
-
bah EmperorRob mentioned Jack Black...bah ugh hrmph.
One day I will hurt that bastard :rpissed:
-
Dislike his music nO-One?
I think his songs are hilarious :D
-
No, he\'s angry because people say he looks/sounds/acts like Jack Black... hell, he could be his identical twin. ;)
-
The best performers on Whose Line Is It Anyway?
Ryan Stiles
Colin Mochrie
Wayne Brady
Greg Proops
Brad Sherwood
Steven Frost
-
I trust you have watched the UK version?
And Ryan Styles is definately in my top 5 funniest people of all time. At least two times every (UK) show, he has me on the ground in tears.

oh? sounds kinky.
p.s. whose line is it anyway sucks. sorry if you like it. i cant stand that show.
-
Chubby Brown.
-
I\'ve just thought of someone even funnier than Chubby Brown.
Peter Kay (the "avvv iiit" guy in the John Smith\'s bitter ads, as well as the creator of the hillarious comedy series, Phoenix nights ). He is as funny as f\'k. He\'s also a local lad, he comes from Bolton, just a couple of miles up the road from me.
-
Dana Carvey....by far.
On a side not....Dana Carvey\'s comedian idol? None other than Robin Williams. :)
*goes to watch Best of SNL: Dana Carvey and Mrs. Doubtfire.*
-
I don\'t understand why you people keep mentioning Dana Carvey. He had no longevity, and his career is long over. Robin Williams is always way too over the top. His sh1t can be funny, but it get old fast.
George Carlin is the funniest human on the planet. No contest.
-
Dana Carvey-his impressions just make me cry with laughter. I love the old SNL skits with him in it. He was ****ing hilarious on Leno not too long ago also.
Robin Williams-almost everything he says makes me laugh. His impressions may suck, but I still laugh at them.
My all-time favorite...Conan O\'Brien-EVERYTHING he says makes me laugh. He has his up and down shows, but the ones that are up rival any comedy IMO. He works his audience better than anyone. He can turn the worse joke ever into a success the way he works from them.
Honorable mentions-Ryan Styles, Steeve-O and Jonny Knoxville(yeah, I love it when people get hurt).

This man speaks the truth. George Carlin is easily my favorite comedian.

YES! I agree!
"Nyquil is the only thing in this world, THAT TASTE GREEN!!!........."

For standup:
Eddie Murphy
Martin Lawrence
Chris Rock
In general(says funny things whenever):
Jim Norton(of O&A fame)
Triumph the insult comic dog(The guy who has his hand up Triumph\'s butt may be one of the funniest men alive, seriously.)
Tracey Morgan
When one of these guys is on TV I am almost always going to be laughing.
-
Jack Dee
Ben Elton
Billy Connolly (Legend!)
-
Seinfeld.
-
Johnny Carson...a very close second is Dave Chappel and Robin Williams
-
Jamie Kennedy

Actually Dana Carvey is still doing standup actively and he just made a new movie (although it probably not that good). His standup is hilarious.
-
Jack Black is the funniest of recent.
-
I\'m telling you. NO ONE messes with Triumph.
-
I gotta agree with Gohan there, Triumph is funny as hell
-
IMO..easily
Richard Pryor
George Carlin
Bill Cosby
Lenny Bruce
In that order.
-
There\'s no doubt in my mind... Sam Kinnison was the man. He wasn\'t slapstick, and it took him awhile to simmer and set things up before he got into a "grove" but when he did he could bust your gut by exasperating in all those lil dark thoughts you have in the back of your mind but would never admit... and you usually leave his shows feeling a bit chilled inside about an hour afterward when his message really sinks in.
That and he taught me how to eat p***y. :D
Other than Sammy: George Carlin, Dennis Leary, Ghallager, and Eddy Murphy come in as close seconds.
-
no-one and Gohan speak the truth. Triumph is effing hilarious.
Damn I just tried posting a video of Triumph making fun of some Star Wars nerds. Sorry folks. :(
-
I had that video on my old computer... gone now :(
Jerry Seinfeld, Billy Connelly and Conan the O\'Brian are up there also.
-
not as the funniest ppl in the world..those 3 have their moments, but compared to the funniest, they are subpar overall.
BTW, yes..humor is subjective..but still..those fellows, OUCH!
-
Billy Connelly has more than just \'moments\'. He\'s on the Robin Williams scale, where EVERY interview he has is hilarious. His standup is probably consistantly better than anyone else around (and more original).
Same with Jerry (we are on a first name basis), only he relies purely on wit and cynisism. It\'s a refreshing change. Best standup comedian ever. (also the best sitcom ever :))
Conan just cracks me up, but he is definately one of those people who only has their \'moments\'.
-
I will give you BC, but not the rest, now way..
I will agree..good sitcom :D
-
Meh, you\'re probably right, I havent seen too many interviews iwth ol\' Jerry. But the ones I have seen were hilarious.
I\'m prolly biased because I love the TV show so much (and his standup)
-
I can\'t stand Seinfeld.... he just seems so full of himself. I dunno, he just doesn\'t do it for me.
