Stupid 56k. :(
-
nothing stupider looking than front wheel drive cars doing burnouts.
Oh, one thing stupider. The camera guy walking in front of the car and the dude standing in front of the hood.
I\'d like to see their Mensa IQ.
-
whats wrong with fwd\'s doin burnouts?
*edit other than a burnout being pretty retarded on any drivetrain.
-
FWD burnouts just look stupid in my opinion.
But then I grew up going to NHRA drag racing, so I think RWD burnouts look more natural. :)
-
FWD burnout are easier since all you have to do is put on the ebrake and let loose.
-
you tricked me, I thought this was gonna be about drugs... :D

How do you think they do a rear wheel drive car? Same damn thing. Except of course you don\'t need people sitting there holding your car back.

Stupid people... :D

To be honest, you dont need ppl holding the car back in either configuration. I\'ve seen plenty of RWD held back too now. :)
-
Total waste of tyres in my opinion.
-
I\'ve seen numerous burnouts at the cheese car shows and they always have someone holding the car back with FWD. I assume it\'s becuase the brakes are smaller in the rear and the lack of weight on the tires makes people need to hold it back.
-
If they were smarter, they would just position their FWD vehicle facing up a slight incline before commencing the burnout. I\'ve done many accidental burnouts in my POS Saturn that way.
They could also throw some bags of rice in the trunk. :D
EDIT: I finally watched the video Luckee posted. Something else that makes it stupid is that burnouts are supposed to end in a short launch. I just looks so pointless when they do the burnout and then just shut the engine down without going anywhere.
-
Actually when you go to events the point is to blow the tire. Everyone gets happy when the tire explodes.
Yawn.
-
Or catches fire. I have a vid somewhere of an 71 skylark that lit one wheel on fire. At a show I went to once, some guy on a bnike did the same thing. The crowd does indeed go nutz.
-
Yeah, the bikes are pretty cool.
-
How do you do a burnout? I\'ve always wondered that....
-
depends...FWD guys lock the ebrake, rev motor and dump the clutch. The auto\'s do similar except they power brake(hold the brake while revving) then release the brake while keeping the gas mashed.
NOt sure about AWD..Its just hard to get all 4 wheels spinning period.
RWD auto is the same as FWD auto. Matter o fact..I think its the same for RWD manual as well. Not sure though, havent ever done a burnout in a manual RWD car.
-
Electronic brake on the non spinning wheel.
-
I never really used the e-brake on burnouts, just poured a little clorox/water solution on the tires before hand, and dump the gas pedal. Bad thing is that the smoke is really toxic, but oh f*cking well.
-
sorry but whats the point really
sucks to be the guy in the car man hes prolly gonna be sick for days and all by inhaling that shit
-
The point? I know a guy that won 2 grand for a burnout :D Others do it for fun..I dont b/c I value my drivetrain :) I might smoke em a little off the line or in the waterbox at the track, but not for sustained periods of time.
-
Hey luckee, do you have any video of your car at the track?
Ace
-
nope..only a vid of me in a street race at one of our getherings a few years ago. Nothing spectactular..hell..its not even on my pc..still in VHS format :D
Ive been to a few national events over the years, I ask some other that went if they ever got me on cam.
