Notice the subject says rumor. I have no idea about the credibility of the website that this article is posted on, I just saw a link to it on another game related site that I read. I certainly hope that this is not true, as Capcom has always been behind some of my most favoritist games since the NES days. Nothing against Xbox, I just don\'t have one, and don\'t have the desire to get one at this point.
Anyway, here it is:

*if this is true*
how dare anyone mock me when when i said m$ would be a juggernaut to the console industry and ruin it

Okay guys, this rumor got started due to the fact Capcom posted losses for this year. The losses were made up of real estate (yes, real estate ventures) and what they called "dissapointing game sells" - which I don\'t understand, when most of their games sell by the bucket loads.
Do you realize how much money it would take for Capcom to even consider a buy-out from MS or Nintendo? Think about it this way, Capcom is one of the largest third party developers out there. They make money off each system and have the benefit of porting those games and making even more cash. For any other company to buy out Capcom it would have to be a lot more than the Rare buy-out.
Am I sayin\' it can\'t happen? No. Do I doubt it happens? Yes , but I\'ve been wrong before. At the same time, I wish it would happen. As long as Capcom went to a company that would not censor their products - it would allow me to have one console that had all the classic Capcom games (*points to Nintendo..*). ..

I still hope that it\'s false, but I\'d have to say that if this did happen, I\'d also be much happier if Nintendo bought them. If I were to buy a second console any time soon, I\'d be leaning towards the GC right now, for enough reasons that have been discussed to death and don\'t need mentioning again.

I don\'t doubt that M$ have tried.. I do doubt whether they have succeeded/will succeed.
They are a desperate bunch aren\'t they? :)

After the Rare buy-out I don\'t doubt anything...I\'ll just wait and see what happens.
I thought I also read that MS is considering Capcom as a 2nd party developer...since Capcom is supposedly in the hole, this would make sense. They could still develop for other consoles and MS would make money off of them.
I could really care less as Capcom isn\'t on my favorites list.

Maybe a juggernaut, but ruin the industry? I am not even sure I agree with the word juggernaut.

whos the next dev to be bought out by m$?
how many devs do they have to own before thier thirst is sated?
-
yah, and they still won\'t be successful in Japan... :p
-
LOL!!!!!!!! Yeah right this doesn\'t even sound right.

MS bought out the makers of Access, Visio, Excel, and several other vendors way back in the 90\'s.
Resistance is futile. The Borg is coming.
And you all thought the Empire (Sony)was bad.

Well, guy\'s, we \'ve had plenty of threads about Ms the "juggernaught", the "borge" and succesful in Japan - so this has already ran its course.
Still, it\'s an interesting rumor.
