It\'s hard to know exactly when it started, but at some point the phrase \'cutesy platformer\' became a term of abuse. Come on people, it\'s not like we don\'t have enough rally games or squad-based shooters, is it? Ratchet & Clank might look cuter than a kitten in a basket of flowers, but they\'re as cool as gaming characters come.

Developed by Insomniac Games, Ratchet & Clank is without doubt one of the most refreshing titles to appear in a long while. Listing the game\'s features is like ticking off items from a platform fan\'s wish-list: beautifully measured controls, vast technicolor levels to explore and enough bonkers gizmos to put The Gadget Shop out of business. Our eponymous heroes find themselves charged with defeating Chairman Dreck and his robotic army before they can harvest the galaxy of all its natural resources. As the game progresses you\'ll find yourself zipping between 18 different planets, with numerous sub-quests and boss encounters to tackle.

It\'s a good game but it\'s not a huge leap from somthing like J&D or Crash.

Heat i\'ve seen several movies of this game, and I think there is a nice leap between J&D and R&C in backgrounds. They are bigger, much more detailed and colorist.

This looks like Jak and Daxter...except better. I havent seen any of the movies yet, or played the game...so I\'m not one to judge. I\'m gonna have to try this one one..it looks sweet...:)

I hate platformers but I actually enjoyed it, so if you like platformers you\'ll probably love it.

I like flying but it\'s pretty hard to get used to, I also hate those bloody giant fish that eat you.

I like some platformers, like Sonic, Mario, J&D, Sly Cooper and I hope Ratchet and Clank.

Are there fish in Ratchet in Clank too, or are you talking about Jak and Daxter



BTW: This is off topic but, when is Smackdown SYM coming out? Is it this year, I couldn\'t find a solid release date anywhere :mad:

1, Yes there are giant fish/shark things in R&C

2, 15th NOV in Europe and 13th for US ( I think for US )

You finished it in 2 days???? No freakin way. It took me a WEEK or more finishing the game and uncovering most of its secrets.

lol, i was like 60 percent through in the first day. it was a day off and i couldnt stop playing..lol


played rachet and clank, still not all that impressed.... it look good and all.... but dunno doesnt appeal to me
