- Square president Youichi Wada mentioned that they are planning to release a new PlayOnline MMORPG for PlayStation 2 and PC in the second half of 2003 to 2004 period, the save data of the game can be used in both PS2 and PC version, similar to Final Fantasy XI.

Uh, hmm.

I am dispointed with FF11.I dont know if I will like this one.Where is Vagrant Story2?
-
Any word on if FFXI is even going to make it State side or to EU territories? Lots of rumors have been going around that they\'ll probly cancel it because of it\'s stict reliance on the HDD which is expected to sell very poorly.

hhmmmmmmmmmmmmm this doesn\'t sound to smart for square but oh well..............

Rastalant is allways skeptical in the Main forum, isnt he?

I am still convinced that it won\'t make it State side and if it somehow does, it\'ll be a stripped down version. Sony and Square are both finally realizing how much of a failure and dumb idea the HDD really is. Now let\'s just see how they dig themselves out of this hole. Will they continue to delay it? Release it and cut the losses? Or just hope the public forgets about it? I\'m betting on the last one, just like Nintendo did with the 64DD...

thats cause his CD access was removed

Amen Brother
I\'ve lost a ton of repsect for Square..... IMO they\'ve sold out, and will only create games that are guarenteed big mone makers
in other words Square is not willing ot take any chances or create new and exciting franchises
and NO Kingdom Hearts doesn\'t count. Its based off of highly recognizable franchises and designed solely to make Square cash easily
Where is Vagrant Story 2, where is Front Mission 5
where is a new RPG made in a different mold then their PS1 predecessors and differerent then FFX
are they out of ideas or just so piss poor broke from the movie they made

L-I-C, care to explain what makes it a failure? Last time I heard, it sold pretty good, considering the only game that supports it is FFXI.

-
Did you play it Unicorn!?
ddaryl hit it right on the nail about kingdom hearts
But I would still like to see a HDD released in the United states....
-
No.Havent seen anything particularly remarkable to want to try it.My previous posts say the exact thing.I ve read about it,seen it.Nothing that makes it the game I expected from Square.

Hey, Kingdom Hearts is a GREAT Game, I finally beat Sepiroth today... it was sweet seeing all the old FF7 characters again.

I mean how successful was FFXI in japan i mean it did fairly well but compared to FFX which in japan alone is at 2.4million sold. Just saying maybe square should stick to normal rpgs that doesn\'t charge an arm and a leg.

rasalant, interesting point, and I probably do agree with you, but it just kind of seemed interesting to me how Square went out and did something completely different than what they usually do (make "normal" RPGs), and now they get flamed for it. True, it wasn\'t exactly original in a sense, but it was something new for them, and in a sense new for the Japanese community (online RPGs are not very popular in Japan)
Now about FFXI, not a lot of people liked it, and truthfully, I didnt think that greatly of it when I first saw it, but I bought it, I\'ve played it, and I like it. But that\'s just my opinion, and truthfully, I haven\'t really read one JAPANESE magazine article that said anything really negative about the game itself. The negativity that I\'ve collected came from the connection/server issues which have been ironed out, and the HDD\'s limited supply, which hopefully have been ironed out at the same time.
Right now, I\'m just waiting for next March to come around, and see how this FFX-2 stuff is, and then I\'ll be waiting for FFXII. enuf said.

Thanks you stick out some good points as well i\'m not saying FFXI is going to be bad or nothing just i know it cost alot of money for the japanese online FFXI experince thats all. Yes FFX-2 looks interesting as well i can\'t wait to see 12 but we will see how this online plan works out for square thats all.:smokin:
