In my PC CD-ROM drive right now.. shuffling Cultosaurus Erectus and A Long Day\'s Night in and out of the drive daily, both by Blue Oyster Cult. The former is a very solid hard rock record, the former is a nice 2002 live recording.

Post by: Jumpman on October 24, 2002, 06:30:30 PM: CD player-burned CDs with alot of Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Zepplin, and mostly old-skool Metallica. My favorite band is Nirvana who are absent from all my recent CDs, but I have this thing going where I refuse to play anything from them because I\'m afraid I\'ll out-play them. I\'m deeply emerged in "Heavier Than Heaven" though. It\'s an amazing biography about the genius himself Kurt Cobain. Great book.

I\'ve recently discovered Pearl Jam\'s "Ten" CD in my sister CD case(she moved out long ago). There one of my favorite bands so thats been in my CD player for awhile. Can\'t get enough of Black. I also found Jimi Hendrix\'s greatist hits CD in my dad\'s CD collection. That\'s been getting alot of play time lately in there aswell. Voodoo Child is the definitive song at it, no doubt.

MP3 list-*open Winamp*
last song played...Sliver-Nirvana. Go Nirvana. I have 81 songs from them somehow even though they only released 5 true records with new material on them(Bleach, Nevermind, Incestide, In Utero, Unplugged).

650 songs on there now, I\'ll just name my favorite bands.

I\'ve totally stopped listening to Slipknot, System Of A Down, Linkin Park, Korn and Smashing Pumpkins to their extreme lack of quality. Post by: THX on October 24, 2002, 11:57:22 PM: Just folded and bought the new Elvis CD, Wallymart had it for $9.84 with a bonus disc. :eek: I could\'ve downloaded on KLite but my system (and ears) can point out a wishy washy MP3 a mile away. Plus that digital Remastering on this disc is some of the best I\'ve heard. Hounddog never sounded so good & clear!

Also self made CD with Beach Boys, Dan Bedingfield, and Rufus Wainwright.

AtD is prolly Roger\'s best solo record, too. I like Radio KAOS as well, and Pros&Cons is good.. but AtD is better.

No-One - Awesome Choice.
Opeth is probably one of the most amazing metal bands of all time.
So melodic, but not cheesy at the same time.
You should check out Arch-Enemy.
They are pretty similiar.

I\'d have to say I like Pros&Cons the best, except for the actual title song. It just doesn\'t seem to fit with the mood of the rest of the album. Radio KAOS is good, but definitely my least favorite Waters solo album. And personally, I like Gilmour\'s stuff better.

I love concept albums though, and Roger generally blows away David in that category. :)

I\'d have to agree about P&C\'s title track, BTW.. doesn\'t fit with the album well. I still like the song, though.

Yes, thats for sure. :) I love concept albums, too. That\'s why I\'m such a huge radiohead fan as well. Ok Computer and Kid A are brilliant.

I don\'t have any idea why, but I\'ve really found that I prefer the things Waters put out more than the things Gilmour put out. Gilmour\'s definitely an excellent guitarist and I do prefer his voice to Water\'s voice and he had some great songs and played a role in the making of some great Floyd songs, but.... I like Waters more.

I like the concept album thing as well, I guess. I love The Final Cut and Animals, while most Floyd fans I\'ve come across find them to be not-so-good. I like the solo Waters music more than the solo Gilmour and Gilmour-led Floyd music I\'ve heard.

It\'s just my preference I guess. I love them both though, and I think some of the best work Pink Floyd had was the work they both played a large part in making.

I haven\'t heard everything by either of them, though--I only got into music a little over two years ago. Pink Floyd was the very first band I got into, however.

And I love Radiohead, too. Amnesiac\'s actually slowly becoming one of my favorites, for some reason. OK Computer is still the best in my opinion, though, as it strikes a perfect balance between their more normal earlier music, and their stranger newer music.

Indeed, I love the symphonic feel to the music. And how they mix brutal death metal growls with some awesome singing. Metal at it\'s best.

And I have a whole lot of Arch Enemy songs as well, one can hardly belive it\'s a girl doing all that screaming.
