Yep. I was one of those who waited all night to get a PS2 2 years ago. Wow. Talk about a long night! It was fun though! News crews were there, donuts was passed out, coffe for everyone, someone running for the bushes to tinkle.....ah.....and the pandemonium in the morning!
More people showed up but the line had already been given tickets and no more were available! Those who showed up late were offering $100 to give one up! Heh!
Anyway, I got mine. Dynasty Warriors 2 was pure joy! SSX was a blast! Oh man! I played all day! :D

I stood in line for 3 hours but there was nobody who cared. Everybody just said "You guys are nuts." Anyway I had DOA2 and a new job and life was good.

I had mine reserved six months ahead of time and STILL had to fight the launch crowd. Stood in line four hours before the store opened. Bought SSX at Wal-Mart, before I went to stand in line (it was a 24 hour store). Got Unreal and Summoner , at K\'B\'Toys (where my PS2 was reserved) . Then around six pm, got word in that Tekken Tag had arrived at K\'B\'toys, and went to pick it up (it was reserved). After that, around 10 pm, I went back to Wal-Mart, because TimeSplitters and RRV had arrived.
It was a long, long day.

I got mine on launch day without queing or reserving. Some guy that ordered one changed his mind and said he didn\'t want it, so I bought it instead.
-
I bought it last christmass.I had to reserve it the same day I went to buy it as every single PS2 was sold and had to wait for hours until they brought new stock from another city 60 miles away.

The Software Etc. here forced anyone who wanted one to completely pay it off a week in advance.
I stood in line for 8 hours anyway... even though I paid in advance. I wanted to be first in line... but there was already one guy there, and he had 3 reserved and baught them all. How messed up is that.
All morning we had people offering us extra money for ours. The biggest problem however was memory cards... but the guy at Software Etc allowed me to buy one early the day before.
I had gotten 6 launch games... Armored Core 2, SSX, DOA2 Hardcore, Ridge Racer, Timesplitters and and........ I can\'t remember the last one, hmm weird, must not have been good.

Damn you. Mine isn\'t quite 2 years old yet, but getting there. On the 23th November, I remember very well - I found out that the store I preordered my PS2 from confirmed the most shocking news at the time: they won\'t be getting any on launch day. Walking through Zurich, I already knew that one of the shops did not allow any preorders and would be selling them first thing in the morning. Knowing this was my only chance, I started walking to the shop ready for a loooong night. On the way though, I happened to find a small shop who just happened to have two last units to sell and ready to pick up in the morning. Of course, I couldn\'t resist and payed in advance. The next day, a friday, I skipped school and picked it up together with SSX, Timesplitters and Tekken Tag. Starting off with SSX and Timesplitters, I had a blast. And once I saw TTT in motion... wow, I was amazed. Well, not quite 2 years yet, but what the heck:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PS2. :D

Oh yes i had my ps2 since oct 26, 2000 i got tekken tag, RRV, and doa2 hardcore. The system been great.

I got mine last year cos when I first bought one in 2000 when they first came out, mine had problems and they were sold out and told me I\'d have to wait 3 months for a replacement so I waited a year and got mine in oct 2001 and my first game for it was Grand Theft Auto 3, followed shortly by Fifa Football 2002. I also have a very very close mate, who owns a games shop where I do cheap trades, which is great so I borrowed all the old titles like TS, SSX, TTT...etc
Man I remember The Bouncer...that sucked!
I saw a DVD about August 2000ish and it looked awesome!
then I borrowed it and it took me about 2 hours to complete in the same night I got it.
Kopking I remember that too...It took me 3 and a half hours to set it up when all I had to do was press channel 0 on my remote and press eject...what a dumbass, I was ringing Dixons and Granada TVs for help...:nut: :D  :p :crap: :facelick: :smokin: :crying: :hat: :clown:
