in 2003 NBC is Airing the AFL "arena Football league" didnt they learn after the XFL (in my opinion they didnt give them a chance, plus when the games were on was a bad time).
Atleast one guy form the XFL is doing good in the NFL (tommy MaddoX of the Steelers) tho he got injured today.
I watched it (the AFL) a little bit this year it is pretty good......it is a shorter field and the kickoffs/punts are different.

the AFL is actually quite entertaining. it\'ll never replace the NFL, but it is a nice supplement for it in the NFL offseason.
-
they need an ohio team tho! the Cleveland crunch (the Soccer team went back to the Force! ( I remember going to a force game and the starwars music coming on)......I now it isnt football.......well it is to other countries outside the US........

Arena football, at least it\'s established. It\'s a much faster game.
Think of Canadian football but with half the field....and in an arena. :)
Very fast!
-
Also, players play both sides of the ball, offense and defense.
-
Arena football is quite good. I see it being rather popular in a few years.
XFL..that was just a bunch of 4th,5th and 6th string athletes playing :) Although it was slightly entertaining, the action pretty much sucked.
-
but the networks are using some of the XFL\'s CAmera Techniques now tho (the Overhead camera and such) so the XFL wasnt a total flop.

AFL has been around for years. It\'s a great league.
And yeah they will use camera tricks. It\'s real aeasy doing some great experimental camera tricks in an arena setting.
I don\'t see anyone complaining about ESPNs Skycam..
ANd they can\'t do a guy on the field in areana ball. At least I doubt it. Way too tight of a field. THe camera guy would certainly get in the way.
-
Yeah there are some really talented guys in the AFL. Some guys that, if given the chance, could probably do well in the NFL.
Personally, I just like the fact that there will be more football on TV. The fact that its AFL football makes it even better.
-
Hmmm. Wasn\'t Kurt Warnerin the AFL? Hmmmmm.
-
I really never knew why NBC pulled the plug on the XFL, hell the games still got higher ratings than the NBA and WNBA combined. Sure it wasn\'t the greatest league ever, but it was still getting viewers.

I had one of the all time great Arena teams in my home town: The Albany Firebirds. We had players such as "Touchdown" Eddie Brown, one of the all time arena greats, and current Pats WR David Patten. The team moved to Indiana though, which pisses me off like you wouldn\'t believe. Albany was considered one of the great arena cities, and when the team moved, they were the defending champions! The last game in Albany was the Arena Bowl. I happen to hate the league now, because of that bullshit.
-
Actually TNN was very happy with the XFL. THey were hoping like hell they could keep it. I had a show on TNN back then so I spoke to them all the time.
BTW, XFL also had better ratings nationally than the NHL as well.
I didn\'t mind a lot of it, but the hokey stuff was ridiculous. I guess that\'s why I think WWE is stupid too. Oh wait, it\'s because it\'s all fake, that\'s why.
-
Arkansas has an Arena 2 team and they are pretty good but they probably won\'t get any tv time as this will be Arena 1 I\'m sure.
-
The XFL wasn\'t too bad. Just really bad timing. They could have made it more interesting.
-
Yeah, Albany has an Arena 2 team too. Arena 2 blows :(

Ok, when you die ask Owen Hart how fAke it is and if you see darren drozdov or Sid Eudy (Psycho Sid) ask him how fake it is!
if it is fake what about all the injuries huh??????? Scripted yes....Fake NO!

If it wasn\'t fake, all the wrestlers would be dead.

Buffalo have/had(?) the Destroyers. I don\'t know if thy\'re still around. I remember that they sucked so bad that they didn\'t even win one game in they\'re first season. (the radio ads were funny next year, they promised to win twice as many games as last year... )
-
Yay...go Arizona Rattlers getting killed by 50 somethin in the championship game last season. Oh well, they still have two titles.
This is good though, get to watch more of it.
-
And the team that killed them were the San Jose Sabers! :p
Arena Football is well established, and unlike the XFL, does NOT compete with the NFL. In fact, the NFL even owns a portion of Arena Football now. With NBC, Arena Football will do even better now.
-
arena football, slamball, all just a waste of time to me. I only like originals.
-
Putting Arena Football in the same sentence as Slamball is insane. Arena football is FAR more entertaining of a sport. Slamball is an absolute joke. I watched about 5 minutes one day because I was talking to a guy from TNN about it who said it was doing well. OH MY GOD. What kind of viewers do they have on that station for it to be doing well. It is Horrible!!!
-
The funny thing is Vid it used to be on after wrestling and I guess nobody liked it b/c it was replaced real quick with CSI reruns.
-
They are already reairing CSI reruns? Wow.. It\'s only in season 2. I guess it\'s because of the Viacom deal, as opposed to outright syndication. Usually you need 100 episodes to go into syndication.
I guess this falls in line with Fox Family airing the 24 episodes. There is so much sharing among networks now it\'s amazing.

Yes and TNN has been hyping the heck out of it. They use that Jessie guy and his boss Bob. Those commercials are hilarious like the one where Jessie asks him if he would have sex with the Klingon woman.
