Which of these two cell phones should I get?
Sanyo 4900 (http://www.3g.co.uk/PR/August2002/3957.htm)

Samsung N400 (http://www.twomobile.com/content/1285.php)

I have yet to see any reason for the web stuff on the cell phones. Unless you want to know sports scores or movie times there just isn\'t much worth looking at on the phone.
Both phones look nice to me, but I like flip phones myself more because the buttons are protected and you don\'t get as many accidental phone calls. They also fit in your pocket better.
My dad\'s pants use to call my cell phone all the time. I\'d have these 10-20 minute recordings on my answering service from him. Can\'t hear a darn thing. Just what ever is going on at the time. I gues he use to accidently hit the talk button or something and for some reason he never used keylock.
Speakerphone on the Sanyo is a nice option though in the car. I just noticed that.

The Samsung looks much better than the Sanyo. Much more compact.

I\'ve never owned a cell phone so I don\'t know how much of a bother some of these things can be.
I know the flip one would fit nicer in my pocket but I\'m also debating with the talk time. The flip one has 174 minutes talk time while the Sanyo has 270 minutes talk time. Is it a hassle to charge you phone the extra amount of times that would occur by getting the flip phone?
-
Mine is plugged into my car lighter all the time so I have never run out of talk time. Have you ever really wanted to talk for 2 hours in one day on a cell phone? Your head would explode.
Another thing to remember as well is that the flip phone conforms to your face better than a long slender phone does. The angle of the mic and speaker is great compared to the straight style of the long slender model.

The Sanyo looks like crap. The Samsung looks better.
Do you have any other options? Siemens, Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia? Personally I\'d go for one without the external antenna.
-
Go Euro phone man, they\'re widely accepted for being more userfriendly.
Ericsson, Nokia, Siemens etc..
:)
but of the two I\'d rather pick the Samsung since I like they\'re products. And they actually licensed Nokia\'s OS and will be using it on future phones.

One nice thing about the flip phones with the pull out antenna is that the signal is further away from your head. That is nothing I care to debate, but there have been many tests and less radiation goes into your head when you have the antenna away like the flip phone does.

And somehow I just don\'t care. :)
I\'d bet you\'d have a better chance of getting hit by a truck than dying from using a cell phone. But that\'s just me.

I thoroughly agree with you Sammy. Just wanted to bring it up. You actually have a better chance of getting hit by a purple truck on the 2nd thursday of april on an odd numbered year than having a problem with cell phone radiation.

Sounds good, I\'ll probably go with the Samsung then. And these two are about my only choices, it goes along with a plan my mom already had on her old phone.

they all give you brain cancer, so get whatever one you think will look good with you tumor. ;)

i think the 2nd one it looks smaller with a smaller arial =]
