Today was the opening day of the 2002-2003 NBA season, and my Kings have started it off with a win! They were missing two starters because of injury, and a suspension to Christie because of the fight with Fox. Luckily their incredible bench made up for the lose of Bibby and Christie, Damon Jones scored 18 points, Hedo has 14, and Wallace came in with 15. All in all a nice showing of the Kings depth.
BTW, my Kings will bitch slap Vapors pussy ass Lakers!
-
Oh... let the games begin...
Don\'t make me re-create my "GO LAKERS" sig again...
Christie\'s a bitch. Fox has everything he wants.
-
Christmas Day Biznatch!! Kings vs. Lakers, greatest game of the season!
-
I love how that worthless punk Rick Fox got suspended for SIX games, while Doug Christie only got a two game suspension. Christie is serving notice that the Kings and the rest of the league are not going to take any more of Fox\'s arrogant HORSESHIT on the court. Next time he tries to pull that stuff, he\'s going to be picking up his own teeth.

The bulls have so much great talent, lets see what Cartwright can do with the guys. CUrry, WIlliams,Tyson..etc..etc.

the bulls are the youngest team in NBA history.

GO KNICKS!
*shock runs away and cries*
Oh well, maybe we\'ll at least get the #1 draft pick, and be good next year.

Without Shaq... And the Spurs barely won... Sad.

Uhm, thats happens often when a teams star is out. Its called the rest of the team stepping up.
The lakers still lost..
-
I call jumping on the Lakers bandwagon sad.
-
Well, the Knicks absolutely dominated in the first half, then absolutely sucked in the second, and ended up losing. Yep, it\'s Knicks season again :(

Considering I liked them before their run at the rings, when Van Exel was playing guard, we had Eddie Jones, Elden Campbell and ****ing Kurt Rambis coaching us. You can make your assumptions, but I\'ve been a Lakers fan for easily 10 years now.
-
GO LAKERS! GO KINGS! GO MAVS!
I like everyone, really I do. :)

Feeling guilty of bandwagon hopping? He didnt menion anyone specific, yet you chimed in.
-
Haha. Poor Vapor walked into that one ;)
GO BULLS! Jay Williams misses 4 free throws down the stretch, but the ROOKIE FROM AUSTIN PEAY (forgot his name) nails 2 clutch 3\'s, and the Bulls beat the Celts in Boston 99-96! ROAR!
See Yuz.

it was trenton hassle who hit those 3\'s and he\'s in his second year.
go bulls.
-
Yao Ming looked like ass last night. 2 rebounds..no blocks..no steals..no points and 2 turn overs. Looks like this guy better learn how the NBA works real fast.

Well its pretty obvious considering I ended my post with, "sad..." and then he continued his using that word as well. And the fact that the Lakers, wait... why am I explaining this to you? You have half a brain don\'t you?
it\'s called

Little kids can never play with the big boys without insulting someone first. Go cry to momma son.
-
I\'m sorry if I insulted you, but it was in response to your typical feeble attempts at trying to make me look stupid.
-
I\'m just happy that I was able to start this arguement, carry on. :)
-
I don\'t get what\'s so bad about the Lakers. They freakin\' won.. No need to argue about it now, the new season is in and it\'s a whole new ballgame (lol, corny) with all these run and gun teams.
ok bye. :)
-
This is definitely going to be a great season. Personally, I\'m a 76ers fan, and believe that IF they get their squad injury free, they could make a decent run for the Eastern Conference.
What\'s even greater, though, is that the Lakers start out 0-2:) God I hate the Lakers. Whether it\'s because a large chunk of their fans are only their for the success, or the fact they eliminated my sixers to years ago, I don\'t know. But really, look at their current state. Shaqs out for, what is it, five more weeks? Fox is out for 4 more games I believe, and Kobe, though he plays, injured his ankle. Then take a look at their schedule. I\'d bet they start out AT LEAST 0-4, and won\'t go on a decent streak (say, five games) until the beginning of January.
-
They\'re going to the playoffs and thats all that matters. And we know what the Lakers are capable of doing when they\'re in the playoffs.
-
Ethan, the sixers are going no where. Every expert out there says they are a team on the decline, and they won\'t get far at all this year. I am inclined to agree. That, and I have learned not to give credit to anything you say anyway :)
And who cares about early season injuries? As long as the players are healthy at playoff time, nothing else matters.
On that note, I think that there are only 4 teams that could possibly win it all this year: The Lakers, the Kings, and the Mavs, and the Wizards. I\'m sorry, but I still refuse to count a playoff team with Jordan out of anything.

im REALLY starting to dislike Shaq...
http://espn.go.com/nba/news/2002/1031/1454031.html
thats Bill f*ckin Walton he\'s talkin to, one of the greatest players of all time.
-
That\'s because Walton has a big mouth... He always talks crap when doing commentary.

Bah, damn sportscenter lying to me :(
The Celtics - getting 0wn3d. MJ puts up 21, and the Wizards beat the Celtics by 45...wow.
And about those Lakers, they\'ll be fine. Once Shaq gets back, he\'ll get away with what he wants, and they\'ll start to win. That\'s how it\'s been for the last 3 years. Nothing different...he can say what he wants because he gets away with what he wants.
See Yuz.

all he said was Shaq might have less foot problems if he lost some weight.
its probably true... Shaqs gettin up there.

I don\'t care what "experts" say. The fact of the matter is, they\'re 1-1. Iverson\'s playing with an injured finger, and the second highest scorer on their team, DC, is out. Once he gets back and is in full swing, along with Van Horn, they\'ll go far. I guarantee it. Championship? Not likely. Eastern Conference finals? Perhaps. Oh yeah ... I told you the knicks were going to be crap this year, you should give me credit:)
And yeah, someone said something about "what the lakers can do in the playoffs". Yeah ... last year they went to game 7 with the Kings. I\'m convinced the Kings are getting better, and will continue to get better as they get their starting lineup back together.
-
Kings will dominate the playoffs this year, hell with only 2 starters on the floor last night, they bitch slapped the Blazers. And I\'m hoping that their depth on the bench will be what pushes them ahead of the Lakers this year.

Dude, it\'s two games into the season. Don\'t give me any "they\'ve been good so far" crap. Eastern Finals? Not a chance in hell. As for the Knicks, I said they might be halfway decent before McDyess got hurt. Without him, they are crap. Without Spree, they are below crap.

The hell? You had em in the Conference finals.

If I said that, I was either being sarcastic and you didn\'t pick up on it, or I was just trying to piss you off. If they get James in the next draft, then I\'ll start talking about getting somewhere in the playoffs.

Something tells me that banking the Knicks entire franchises\' hopes on a 1/4 chancet that a ball is going to draw you instead of the other guy, I think that\'s just a bit stupid.
See Yuz.

I don\'t think Shaq is going to be out for 5 weeks or whatever someone said, I heard something like 5 more games. The Heat are without Zo so that pretty much means they\'ll be giving Denver a run for the worst record in the league. I\'ll just have to root for the Pacers since they are the only team that I like that has a slim chance at doing anything.
-
Even if we don\'t get James, we will get a high draft pick. We have absolutely no young talent, and it would be nice to get someone decent for once. If we do, and then McDyess comes back full strength next year, who knows.
-
If it weren\'t for my horse, I wouldn\'t have spent that year in college....
If you can name the comedian that said that, you get a cookie.
Anyways, it\'s a dark day... My Kings lost to the Heat. Ugh...I\'m gonna go hang myself.

bill walton was never all that great. Whoever said that is either a child or not a sports fan. Like shaq said he has done more than bill walton has ever done in the NBA.
kobe has had 2 tripple double in last 2 games and 33points go lakers.

It was a hard battle, it was shiat against shiat, and even though VC and AD were out, the BULLS almost won against the raptors.
I think the coach messed up on not playing the right people though... i guess he was saving the rookies for????
-
the pistons are kickin mucho anos
except for when they play a good team.... aka dallas
-
The Knicks are sucking mucho anos
except for when they play a good team.... aka Sacramento
-
god damn Sactown...loose to three shitty teams
-
Well, its early in the season. Right now it appears that the Kings are hurt by injuries.
Anyways...go Kings! Since the Bay Area doesn\'t have a professional basketball team to root for.
*nerdy voice* "But what about the Warriors?"
You call them a profession basketball team? :p
-
I see no reason why the Wizards can\'t win the NBA championship this year.
-
The Lakers are so dependant on Shaq that its not even funny.

Why I wonder he didnt get MVP last season

Does this thread really need to be stickied?
It has only had 59 replies in 2 weeks.

Kobe Bryant is my hero.

Because he was hurt part of the year.

As with the NHL thread, until the NBA season gets towards playoffs it really doesn\'t need a sticky.
-
Such a pity, the lakers cant even run over golden state. ahahahahahahahaha
This rockets/suns game however has been pretty damn good.
-
God damn Kings lost to the f*cking sonics.....Bibby for the love of god, heal faster!!
-
Yao Ming finally waking up?
Yao scored 30 points and grabbed 16 rebounds against Dallas.
-
Finally? Hell, the man\'s shooting like 72%.
-
I was talking about wednesday nights game. Its not like Big Shawn Bradley was a push over, or the rest of the Mav\'s for that fact.
-
he\'s averaging like 92% from the field over the past couple of games, not too bad.
