Title: Jam Master Jay of Run DMC shot dead!
Post by: Kurt Angle on October 31, 2002, 01:32:30 AM: A member of the pioneering American rap group, Run-DMC, has been shot dead in New York.

Jam Master Jay - whose real name was Jason Mizell - was killed at a recording studio in the Queens district, police said. A second person was injured.

These were not "gangsta" rappers, so it\'s not like they were looking for trouble, they were shot in the studio. It\'s a shame that you would categorize Run D.M.C with most other rappers of todays generation. They by far seemed to be the most docile and harmless of all.

i mean with 2pac u kinda knew it could happen,i mean the way he was, what he rapped about, the way he lived!!

but not these guys, in some of there songs there anti drugs etc etc...

i also remeber rapppers before run dmc, grand master falsh and the furious 5 being one of my fav rap bands ever!!!

I wasn\'t categorizing them with gangsta rappers at all. I was just saying the people that they hang out with probably aren\'t that safe to be around. It doesn\'t seem as if they ever wanted to leave their old friends or their old neighborhoods behind. You can imagine that the people they\'re hanging around with probably didn\'t fare as well as them. I am saddened by this news. I love DMC.
