Got my demo from Ted Bakers today in Covent Gardens, I suggest you get a copy too.
Gonna play it now, ask any questions and I will try to answer them to the best of my knowledge
:)
-
Is it good? :D
-
how is it ???????
-
Tell us!!!!!!!
-
Kurt.. you gotta get rid of that spray paint hair on Mr. Angle.... it\'s terribly distracting..
-
The whole city is very detailed. Although the draw distance is a bit weak, it is expected for such a detailed game.
Every car handles uniquly and each has its advantages and disadvantages.
Some cars are slow (micra) and some are fast (lexus...).
On foot there are some problems with the camera which I hope will be fixed for the final build.
Ask some specific questions so I can answer better :)
-
How is the framerate in the driving sequences?
-
The framerate seems to be surprisingly good when driving. I have noticed no slowdown so far, which is a major plus point :)
-
Are the streets busy with lots of pedestrians, like the real London, and more importantly can you run them over!
-
how about weapons?
-
Yes there are many more cars and pedestrians in the streets than you see in the screenshots, so it looks as though this problem has been resolved.
And yes.....you can run them over :D
As for weapons, I have only used the one you get to start with (pistol?).
-
How gory is it when running over them?I want a nice bloody splash.
-
When running people over no blood seems to come out of them straight away, I never really turned back to look. (will have to do that soon)
When shooting people a nice blood stain appears on them as they slump to the ground :D
-
As a demo, how would you rate it?
Like, if you weren\'t hyped up about the game, got this today and played it.. would you now be interested in the game?
-
Definately!
If I didnt know about this game before hand, I would enjoy the realism, the depth of London, nice cutscenes, great cars.

Are the streets an acurate representation of London as the developers have stated?
If they are you should be able to know your way around fairly well being from London yourself.
-
Well I havent really driven much around the streets yet, just the mission where I am chasing a car.
There is a way to roam around the city by performing some task, I still have yet to do (it is v. hard).
Once I get to roam around the city I will tell you if I think its a good representation.
I have a good feeling that it is though
-
Sounds good, I want it. I picked this over GTA:VC a long time ago, seeing as I\'m near London and all....
-
Yeah, playing the demo just makes me want the final build more and more!
-
Have you got the Lotus to the warehouse yet to enable you to free roam?
-
No I havent managed that yet :(
I\'m gonna keep trying though, hopefully I will succeed eventually!!

I have a couple of questions...
*Do the cars blow-up if there\'s to much damage?
*Are the controls easy to use?
* In the cut-scenes, are there lips correctly sync to what they\'re saying?
* Is the main character a whimp, or a bad-ass?
* Can you shot through car windows?
* How about tires?
* What kind of hold-up moves can you do to people? Ex. When you put a gun to a ped can you choke them, tell them what to to?
That\'s all I have for now.
Thanks!
:D

1) The cars do not blow up when there is too much damage but they do catch on fire and burn out
2) Yes, the controls are pretty easy to use, didnt take long to get used to them at all
3) Of the cut scene I have seen, the sync seems to be correct, maybe one or two errors but other than that completly fine :)
4) The main character doesnt seem like a whimp, he\'s meant to be a bad ass :p
5) Yes you can shoot through car windows
6) Yes you can deflate the tyres by shooting them
7) Hold ups....You can hold a gun to their head, then I think you can choke them or shoot them
There you go, hope this helps :)

I\'ve got a couple more :D
*How\'s the loading when you go in stores and building?
* Can you shot out from a car like GTA3?
*Is it mission based?
* Can you free-roam during a mission?
* How do you rate the game, Graphics, sound, gameplay, fun factor?
Thanks!
-
what sound options do they have, DTS, dolby digital 5.1, dolby pro logic?

Here is a rough map to help you it\'s pretty simple if you don\'t crash and you have to drive to the max if you can don\'t use the brakes and just blend in and out on the accelerator.

1) Loading seems to be ok I think, cant really tell until we have the full game
2) I dont believe you can shoot out from a car like GTA3
3) Generally this game is mission based but there will be times where you can free roam
4) During the first mission you cant really free roam but doing certain things lets you
5) All of the factors you mention rate very highly to me, the draw distance is a bit poor, but expected. Other than that the game is very detailed and its fun driving somewhere you live and know
Thanks for the map MAKAVELIUK, i got it from the gamefaq board too.
:)

From what you tell, Mystical, I guess Soho studio resolved the
framerate problem by shortening the drawdistance a bit. A better
fps in exchange for a little drawdistance is a good deal imo. Especially since weather in London is mostly grey, rainy or foggy
(ain\'t it ? ) Good to hear the streets are \'lively\' with
many ppl and cars going around - which a city like London is supposed to be. Furthermore the missions seem story based which is a good thing as long as it doesn\'t stretch into MGS2 proportions. (you know what I mean....)
Wow, I think I\'m gonna pre-order this game next week ! :bounce: Was gonna get it anyway.
-
Yep, the tradeoff between fps and drawdistance is a good one :)
[edit] Yeah the weather is mostly grey here lol [/edit]
Good to hear your getting the game :D
-
The draw distance is still pretty damn good IMO, when your just coming on the bridge to cross the Thames you can see all the buildings on the other side and the bridge is pretty long.
The game totally rocks December 13th can\'t wait.

Pretty exciting to hear it has such details in interactivity like those above for a game that so much work had to be done for recreating London, motion capture, story etc and deal with the hardware issues and the limited DVD storage(3GB of texture data) at the same time.
-
Sounds good, too bad you can\'t do drive-by\'s.
