CNN did an Interview with the creator of Grand Theft Auto Vice City and he was talking about the future of GTA.
He said that the team was working on a Grand Theft Auto 4 which he said was going to come out for PS2. But one thing caught my ear.
He also talked about some of the other games he will make after 4. He said that when the contract with Sony (Stating that the GTA series can only be for Sony)was up, he and the team would likely sign another contract with Sony for other GTA games to go toward it.
There are three GTA games in progress:
Grand Theft Auto 4: No details released.
Grand Theft Auto: Sin City - 70\'s in Vegas. They did say that this game would be like GTA:III as to Vice City. He didn\'t say if it will come out before or after 4.
Grand Theft Auto: Sports - The creator talked about how he was creating a GTA Game that involved racing cars and motorcycles. Also Golf and Skate-boarding would be other features of the game.
The segment lasted around 7 minutes. The first 3-4 minutes just talked about Vice City.

People may get burned out on the series. Even though the games are getting high praise, they\'re going opt have to keep it fresh
it\'ll be a challenge, but after so many car jack, so many senseless beatings... what can they do to keep people interested after so many people have invested 100- 500 hours playing these games
or are gamers going to buy it just because its GTA... similiar to FF
-
I say hold them off til next gen, I can wait...
***Well, until I beat GTAVC then I\'ll want it now.
-
GTA-O aka Grand Theft Auto Online! That could keep people interested. But it would be almost impossible to make GTA a good online game IMO.
-
It was a given and it\'s also a given that too much too soon will burn people out. Personally, GTA:Sport\'s simply sounds like a rip off and a bad idea. I\'m curious as to how long this series can live off of its hyped violence before it dies, ala Mortal Kombat.
-
It can live as long as people find the gameplay fun (and fresh). So if they can make new features and generally improve each game, giving new features, towns, and whatnot then it might work. Otherwise people will just get enough at some point. I hope they can do it. :)
-
Ugh... can anyone see "Grand Theft Auto: In SPACE!!" looming out there on the horizon? :(
"Break yo\'self ET.. gimmie that goddamned flying saucer... yeah.. phone this home beyotch.. *BLAM BLAM*
Please Rockstar.. don\'t turn GTA3 into "The SIMS" with fully automatic weapons.
-
The GTA Sports thingy was JOKE! :)
Gawd damn, on Friday Ill get my beloved Viiiiiiiiiice... Cant wait.
-
The more GTA games the better IMO.
-
They said the same thing about Tomb Raider , once upon a time..
-
Milk those tities...
-
They might flood the market with too many GTA games and people will lose interest. GTA: Sin City does sound cool though. They shouldn\'t release them too close to eachother.
-
Well, one GTA a year wouldn\'t hurt anyone, as long as they keep the gameplay fresh. :)
-
i thoght i heard ages ago, that for gta4, they will remake the engine and make it more realistic.... as long as it improes a lot each time im not gonna moan
-
I\'m liking Vice City much more than GTA3. As long as this trend continues with the new GTAs coming out in the future, i\'ll buy \'em all.
-
GTA 4 and GTA: SC sound bad ass, i hope GTA:sports is a joke thatll really kill it. i wonder what they can improve in those games thats not already done, what can they add, more cars, planes, what do yall think?
-
Viva Las Vegas.
-
Hey, in GTA:Sin City, I can run over Vapor :D :D :D
-
i can either see a online version for GTA4
or
an whole re-write for the GTA series
one where you can not only buy properties GTA:VC but manage a whole Crime Empire with the introduction of
Crime Building mode, (which goes along with the Main story line)
the ability to pick a gang and customise it to your hearts desire
- fight for turf
- pick and recruit new members
- out fit members with dress code\'s and weapons of choice
- selectable Gang cars and colour schemes
- Select a HQ
- Gang warfare (all out war thats only ended when you "capture" the enemys HQ)
- Jail assalts (brake into ploice stations and rescue gang members.
pick a Gang/ Chrime family ..start as a low life..finish as the Boss...own the city
-
That would sound pretty awesome. I hope they do something like that.
-
I think you should email those ideas to the Rockstar dudes or something, that would own so much i would cry
-
so GTA 4 should be like a strategy game, with the gang wars and stuff...?
-
I hate sports, I hate Las Vegas, and I\'m sick of movies, sitcoms, etc milking the retro approach. These guys at rockstar need to grow some balls and make the next GTA take place in the near future, and make the game heavily gang oriented as well. In fact, the main character should be able to win or lose the respect of any gang, and even start his own gang.
-
GTA3 was in present day New York, Vice city was in Miami during the 80\'s and Sin city is in the 70\'s and based on Las Vegas.
Where do you think GTA4 will be situated in? Mid 90\'s?
-
I don\'t think GT3 took place in NYC.
-
GTA4 could be in the 60\'s. Just imagine that, you could cause a massacre at woodstock.

I wouldn\'t be surprised if it were GTA: Wild West.
It better take place in the present day at least.

In GTA3 Liberty city was to NYC
what Vice City is to Miami
-
i think Event horizon is right, well not really i would like to see GTA SC but then hes right in a way. ive played GTA 2, and i liked the fact that you cant mess around with anygang and lose their respect and do whatever, then the gangs start hating you and then their rivals like you and such.

But it looks nothing like NYC though. I really can\'t see the analogy.

ALmost no need to, you would be surprised how often company reps check enthusiast forums such as this to gauge what we want. Lurking around the boards and such. One reason why it is a good idea to conduct ourselves with some common sense. :)
On one of our automotive boards I frequent, the special vehicles development team has done just that. Offering us what we asked for(within reason) and took alot of our input on. We never knew they were lurking untill...
