I\'m wondering if any of you play this little gem of a mod. I\'ve had it since it was released (about a week ago) and have been playing it every since. Amazing game.
For those who don\'t know what it is, it\'s a mod for Half-Life/Counter Strike Retail. Website here. (http://www.natural-selection.org) It\'s a first person strategy game, loosly resembling an Alien vs Predator type environment. It\'s really much more than a simple mod, it\'s a whole new game. I\'m suprised they didn\'t opt to try and sell it, it\'s easily one of the better games i\'ve played on my PC. Check out the website for tons more info on it.
If anyone here plays it we should try to get a game going sometime or something.
My only complaint is that they used the Half Life engine. It was good a couple years ago, but it\'s clearly showing it\'s age. They really could have done so much more if they used something like the Q3A engine, or the Unreal Tournament (not 2003) engine... something a little better looking and more up to date.
But ah well, still an amazing game. :bounce:

Lags too much.And they need to work on some balance issues.Sitting around for twenty minuites while your team is building cannons gets a little boring.Matches can last hours sometimes.
Right now it seems to be focused on the defensive side a little too much.But it is beta and theres alot of potential for this one.

They released a server patch yesterday, fixes all the balance issues.
There was a bug that allowed marines to get 10xs the resources they were supposed too. :crap:
Anyway, games are supposed to last long. This isn\'t CS or Q3A, it\'s a strategy game in first person view. Complaining about NS matches taking long is like complaing about SC or WC3 games taking long. They\'re supposed to.
And the lag thing is pretty bad, on some servers. Any server with 18 or more people will lag to hell. The team said you do need a pretty beefy server to run the game properly, because of everything they added to the game.
