-
Looks great except for Veiwtiful Joe......it looks kinde...... :crap:
-
Its good to be a GC owner...
-
Cloud345: Go to http://www.newtechnix.com and check out the video for Viewtiful Joe. Beautiful game..
-
Looks great except for Veiwtiful Joe......it looks kinde......
This just shows your ignorance. It actually looks, in motion, like the most impressive, addictive, and classic game of the entire bunch. Sure, RE looks good, but it\'s RE and that pretty much says it all while the other games, although impressive in their own merits, definitely show possible flaws while Joe just looks like something that is incredible. It\'s like Gunstar Heroes meets Final Fight. Beautiful.
-
Wow.
RE4 looks great. If that is indeed real-time I\'m amazed. It looks like it\'s taking the series in a new direction. It\'s about time.
Product Number 3 looks interesting. I want to see more before I make my final judgement.
I want to see more of Dead Phoenix too before I make my judgement.
Killer 7 looks incredible. The art is awesome. It\'s scary in its own weird way.
Viewtiful Joe doesn\'t catch my interest.
I hope these games turn out good because they look like they hold alot of promise. We knew Capcom had some GC games under development but this is just incredible.
-
*hugs gamecube*
I actually am especially looking forward to Viewtiful Joe. I would love to have a quality side scroller to play again.
-
But where\'s Leon and Sherry???
-
I must say, I am extremely impressed with all of these games in some form and impressed with all these great-looking games on the Cube. Here are my impressions from the movies I saw.
RE4 looks downright amazing for being realtime. It looks just like RE:R, which is very impressive considering it had pre-rendered backrounds. If Capcom comes through with its promise of a totally unique and different RE game, then it might be an AAA game. Sorry, but awful/clunky controls and lame stories(Re:0) don\'t cut it anymore.
Viewtiful Joe looks original from the movie I saw. It was like an action-platformer of some sort. Not like Metroid because it did have some real-platforming going on. The graphics are pretty sweet too. Though I\'m not convinced it will be an AAA title since I generally dislike of all Capcom\'s previous platformer efforts, but I do not doubt it completely. Looks like a potential sleeper hit. I\'m a platformer fanatic so I might just love this game.
Product Number 3 looks awesome. It has the futuristic look perfected, and the small amount of action I saw looked pretty fun(a girl jumping from side to side in a hall while being shot at by a huge robot). Very impressive. Looks like a potentially great action game.
Killer 7 is quite simply, the best looking game I have ever seen in terms of style. The cel-shading fits it very well. I think its the best looking cel-shaded game to date. It looks exactly like a dark-comic book. Just look at the blood splashes on the wall. Pheonominal. The story sounds pretty interesting too(some old-man who has 7 different hitman personalities? awesome?)I haven\'t seen any gameplay from the movies I witnessed, but just look at its ****ing spectacular art-style! Look!
I\'m definitely impressed with Dead Phoenix the most of out all these potentially great games. The promise of totally free flying sounds amazing. I\'ve been dreaming of something like that for as long as I can remember. The environments in it looked wicked too, which adds to the whole free experience greatly. The action I saw looked pretty cool too. A LOT of enemies on screen at once. Looked very frantic and fun.
Overall, I couldn\'t be more impressed with Capcom regarding these titles. All of them have the potential to be great games. If the live up to their expections, then I have no doubt Capcom will be the developer of the year in 2003. 5 AAA titles from one developer on one system is quite the number for just one year.
-
But where\'s Leon and Sherry???
Who do you think that is in that pic?
-
I think I may be in heaven.
RE4 is maybe the most gorgeous thing ever.
And yet some people want to question the fact that Capcom is the best developer, bar none.
-
"best" developer is debattable... ;)
-
Is any other developer putting that many TRiple A games out on ONE systems, never the less all systems? Is any other developer making games look THAT good?
Okay, then.
-
Well, we can\'t say for sure that they\'re all AAA.. but I would assume so.
Still, yeah, this makes Capcom better than Sega IMO.. that is, until Sega announces some 2003 games.. :)
-
Viewtiful Joe..
*has died and gone to heaven*
-
Thats Leon???
He\'s no longer such a dork...
And I\'m with Clip...
Capcom is the best...
-
Killer 7 looks awesome. The artstyle is totally new and sweet. I\'m gonna pick that up if it turns out good.

It\'s still debatable - to no suprise, it is your opinion to why Capcom is your favorite developer. If the definition of "best" is as described above in your reply, then I\'m in:
If "best" in your words, is putting that many tripple A games on one system and making them look that good, well then I beg to disagree. What makes them better than say Konami? Than Square? Square brought out nothing but "AAA" titles aswell, although many people might disagree with those scores simply because many dislike the turn based RPG style used in the FF games. Still, the talent is certainly there and everything from the stories, sound to the characters have been top notch in the past. In fact, I can\'t recall a Square game not being "AAA" despite The Bouncer. Capcom certainly had a weak appearance with Code Veronica, or if you want to debate that, then Nemesis. They also had some other games that probably didn\'t reach status of being a "AAA" game either.
I love Capcom, if only because of the first Resident Evil games and the incredible Devil May Cry game - but if I had to go with "best" developer - then I would have to go with Square simply due to the importance of the company, sales wise, technical achievements and their ability to maintain a very high average in game quality over the past.
-
I need a GC...NOW....These games look amazing.Thank God GC isnt expensive. It increases the chances I might get one.
I cant let any game from the RE series to go away from my hands(Except the Gun survivors).I like the looks of the main character(Is he really Leon?).He is very similar looking with one of my favourite characters, Squall Leonheart,
I find the other games very interesting too.
Great games are emerging on the GC after all this time.At last
-
Finally a Nintendo machine that is catering to my tastes. The GC doesn\'t look half-bad anymore.
-
Personally, out of the games listed above, I like Product Number 3 the best. Dunno why though.. it just cought my interest. Maybe because it reminds me of Cool Girl (the title in the works by H. Kojima)...
-
Has Square branched out onto other genres and been succesful? Hell no. Why? Because Square has no clue about games other than RPG\'s.
Konami makes some good games - but they make plenty of crap games.
Capcom, on the other hand has been succesful for years upon years and not been limited to one genre. They revolutationized the fighting game genre and started a craze with the Survival horror genre. They continue to push boundries in all the right ways and are not limited to one genre and that is the true test of a developer.
Killer 7 and Viewful Joe both scream of style and both look extremely interesting. I can\'t say I care about Project 03 - its yet another sci-fi game.
It\'s funny tho\', beyond DMC2, REOnline and Auto Modelista , Capcom PS2 support is thin and its even thinner for the Xbox. What has happened to Dino Crisis 3? It seems to have dropped off the radar once again .
-
Heh, I think you are being a bit thickheaded with that Squaresoft comment there Seven. Threads of Fate, Legend of Mana, The Bouncer, their Japanese exclusive games that they branched out into like those wrestling and baseball games, oh and lets not forget Driving Emotion Type S. They\'ve had plenty of stinkers, it\'s just people remind themselves of all the good games on the SNES and PSX and suddenly forget the ones they don\'t primarily back funds wise. :)
-
Has Square branched out onto other genres and been succesful? Hell no. Why? Because Square has no clue about games other than RPG\'s.
And does that make them any worse as a developer? Hell no. The point is, they might be your personal favorite developer but you can hardly call it a fact that they\'re "the" best developers around. I brought up Square simply due to the importance of them in console history and them maintaining million sellers over the years.
Also L-I-C, grab a dictionary and look up the word FACT. ;)
-
Just watched video of Veiwtiful Joe......it looked really fast paced and a surisingly good to me.
-
Sadly, Square isn\'t that important. For the most part they don\'t innovate.
-
Sales and history prove otherwise my friend.
-
It\'s basically only Final Fantasy games that have stellar sales, while some of their masterpieces, and most unique and greatest games are completely ignored. Such as Vagrant Story and Xenogears (outside of Japan).
Square have importance in Japan, not so much elsewhere.
And Square have innovated in the past. The most notable being the ATB system, but also their fighting games have usually been unique in their own right. Bushido Blade was the ultimate in realism. Tobal was the first free roaming 3D fighting game. And Ehrgeiz was the first free-roaming fighting game where you were not permantantly locked onto you opponent. And lets not forget the chain system in Vagrant Story.
Of course, those fighting games were developed majoritorily by Dreamfactory and Lightweight, but... oh well :D:p
-
As for if Square is important or not, I was refering mainly to historic events and current worldwide sales in which they do sell millions, regardless of how much in Japan opposed to the rest of the world. Just wanted to clear this up.
Anyway, this discussion is not about Square anyway - it was just an example anyway.
-
Those games looks pretty sweet.. More games to get when I buy a GC :)

Now, now.. Lets not forget Onimusha 3 (going 3D baybay!), Clock Tower 3 which looks pretty sick and Red Dead Revolver.
And IMO Konami are the best devs (Sony 2nd) ;)

Konami hardly delivers enough games to be that highly regarded .

In my book they do :)
MGS2 and Substance, ZOE2, Cool/Cy Girl (might be good, looks good, and Hideo is making it), Silent Hill 2 and 3, Suikoden III, Contra ect. ect.
They who have impressed me the most this gen though is Sony. They went from nothing to one of my favs..
Not bad :)
-
Oh yeah Sony are doing well.It delivered some unique games like ICO,MOK,Frequency,WRC etc.Very good for an inexperienced developer.
-

Ah, so now days a developer is only regarded top when they can match a certain amount of titles given a defind time period?
Ok, yeah makes sense. In that regard, Rare won\'t even be considered as good developers since their output rate of 1 game every one or two years is just too low. /sarcasm
-
Rare isn\'t a that good of a developer.
What\'s your point, Seven?
Oh, you don\'t have one...as usual.
;)
