I stopped playing after I maxed out my house.
I got plenty of money.
I got all the furnitures I need.
I have no intention of getting all the fish or insects.
Oh well. It was still fun. :)
Anyone else abandon the game yet?
-
not yet, I will however persue the fish and insects. As well as improve my HRA, and complete the painting set.
Still some gametime for me! :)
-
Not entirely.
I got a whole load of games that replaced its playing time, but I still check into Cubeland 2-4 times a week.

I just bought the game and am addicted so far. How many game hours have you guys put into it? This is another reason I love Nintendo. They put out different type of games like Pikman and now Animal Crossing.:)
-
I still check in once a day...I haven\'t completely payed off my last upgrade (still 600,000 bell to go...ouch).
After that I will pursue and perfect Fung Shui (whatever)...I hear if you get certain amounts of points they award you with a new house. 100,000 points gets you a mansion supposedly.
Besides that...I do want to get everything for the museum.

There\'s no point to this game. But that\'s why it\'s so great. If people ask why it\'s so good, I simply respond;
"The game is like life, it is what you make of it."
-
I\'ve only just abandoned it. (My Mom is addicted to it like crack tho....)
It\'s interesting, though, I left it because my girlfriend played it so much that the characters talk about her all the time. Only now we broke up, and I don\'t want the constant reminders.
I have to admit, that\'s the most bizarre reason I\'ve ever stopped playing a game.

Is this game worth buying th console for? I only have a ps@ and if is is i\'ll think about a gamecube too.
-
MrBMXer5o:
I don\'t think so, but Animal Crossing combined with the dozens of other great GCN games = must-buy.
-
Animal Crossing will have you addicted...for about 2 weeks. Then you\'ll go down to 30 mintues every now and then.
As Blade said...buy it with other games.
I suggest Metroid!

Aww, I can\'t stay mad at Animal Crossing.
I\'m over the girlfriend references and now I\'m back to collecting rare NES games (I\'m really good at Clu Clu Land and Donkey Kong 3 now) and going for a "perfect town" just so they give me a golden axe.
Tomorrow I\'m putting in a code I got to receive Excitebike. Mmmm. My goal is to own Punch-Out!! Then Animal Crossing will be the best game ever, heh.

I have heard all the good things about this game but I am still reluctant to try it. It sounds so simple yet fun from what I hear.
Maybe one day.

I definitely hear you on the reluctance. I really questioned myself when I bought it.
It looks like it\'s only fun for four-year-olds (cliche, I know), there\'s no point to it, and it\'s not very cutting edge. But I bought it anyway and I still play it, so I\'m more than satisfied.
Knowing how addictive it is, I really don\'t have a problem owning it. But from the reluctancy stand point, you might consider it a guilty pleasure.
But I\'ll admit, there\'s no action, no violence, no point. It might not be for everyone.
