2) You can do it for $15 bucks.

Heres the details.

1. Find a free instruction site online, don\'t pay for instructions.

This is based on turning an old TV upside down and using a fresnel lens (the kind in an ordinary overhead projector, for instance) to send that image onto a wall. It won\'t work with all tvs. Modern tvs (plasma, some tubes) don\'t like being upside down. It requires you to make a very light proof box, and you\'ll need a tv that you can turn your brightness waaaaaaaay up on (I originally did it with an old TV, then later with a computer monitor... waaaay better). You will also have to use this \'projector\' only in an extremely dark room... they aren\'t that bright (the better quality lens you use, the better it will work out). Other than the lens, which you can find for 5-10 bucks (places like fisherscientific or something), you need a bit o\' lumber, some cardboard and black paint.

My second, far better \'projector\' with the monitor in it cost me about 45 bucks, because I made it with plastic, handles, and metal... it\'s more portable and light proof.
