I don\'t mean your all-time favorite songs, I mean the song(s) you are loving/enjoying and listening to the most at the present time. Music is a cool topic, so lets see some songs. Mine:
3. Tool-Aenima:It\'s Tool, therefore it rocks. There\'s gotta be some Tool fans here who can explain the awesomeness of this song.
2. Nine Inch Nails-March Of The Pigs: Fast, loud, NIN at their best. I think its hilarious when the loudness and speed stop and you hear softly, "Now doesn\'t that make you feel better?".
1. Nirvana-Milk It: It\'s Nirvana. Therefore it is amazing. But I love this song because of it\'s loud way of getting you depressed. It opens with heavy guitar riffs, moves into the first verse with Cobain giving the impression that he is very miserable then he kicks into a loud and moving chorus. "Look on the bright side is suicide"(and we all know this is what actually happened). You might brush this song off as being unlistenable at first hear, but it gets better the more you hear it(like everything on In Utero).
^Three kick ass 90\'s bands btw.
Other songs I\'m digging lately: Crosstown Traffic(Hendrix), Money(Floyd), alot of Rage Against The Machine songs, 4th of July(Soundgarden), etc.
-
I\'m listening to my Christmas CD now. Harry Connick Jr is cool.
-
At this very moment:
Sparta-Cut Your Ribbon
Bob Dylan-Like a Rolling Stone
Pink Floyd-Breathe
AC/DC-Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
Incubus-Echo
I might as well post again tomorrow, it prolly will have changed by then.
-
These would be the songs I\'ve been listening too the most lately.
Tool - Prison Sex
Tool - 46 & 2
Immortal - Withstand the fall of time
Opeth - The Drapery Falls
Opeth - The Leper Affinity
Opeth - Serenety Painted Death
-
Forgot to mention 46 & 2 and Undertow...
Opeth? They any good? Never really heard of them before.
-
Song 5 of opeth\'s new album has me currently occupied.
Probably one of THE most metal songs of all time.
Especially when he goes from singing all nice and classically soft into this amazing metal bas and guitar riff with him growling.
Utterly amazing is all I can say.
Whats the name of that song No-One?
-
Dirge for November would be the name.
And that\'s what I love about Opeth, he sings like a monster then switches into classical singing. Damned good.
-
....and you dont list that song as one of your favorites?
I cant see how thats possible.
The packaging when I bought it said , \'metals most brilliant band"
I have to agree.
-
indeed, I have it but I listed the ones I listen to the most, The Drapery Falls and The Leper Affinity would be my favs off Blackwater Park.
-
I have that album as well.
Is this the main kind of music over there?
For example, I hear that At the Gates is like, Immensly popular in other countries. I tell people I listen to them, and they are like "who", "oh you mean like Rammstein?"
Bastards.
-
I don\'t think there\'s any country out there where metal is the "main" type of music, but the real metal heads around here they all know the stuff. Especially here in the Scandinavian countries, these bands are all fairly well known.
-
All Queens of the Stone Age. Seriously, all of their stuff.

Poverty - "Life Sucks" Homeless white dude from Portland Oregon who is putting out some really good music
Eminem - "Lose Yourself" This is the track that you hear in all of the 8 mile commercials. It is a great lyrical story. I like the guitars in the background and Em sounds really good over the beat.
Lil Flip - "The way we ball" Weak Lyrics. Weak Content. But I can\'t help but listen to it. This is the music that you put on when you are sitting back with some friends getting blazed or when hanging with some females. Laid back beat and flow.
Pastor Troy - "No mo play in GA pt. 2" Just a song that I listen to to get me hype. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Some of NiN\'s best stuff was the earlier material. If you like industrial rock or heavier stuff, you should check out NiN\'s "Broken" album. \'Happiness in Slavery\' is one of the best songs on it, followed by \'Gave Up\'. I recommend both of them .
I\'ve been listening to A Perfect Circle\'s \'Mer De Noms\' cd the last day or so and keep hoping they\'ll put out another soon as possible. It is truly an amazing cd.
-
Dammit, I should have read the first page..
I\'m with nO-One, Opeth\'s best song is The Drapery Falls. Some brilliant guitars, and singing in that one.
I still prefer Tool over Opeth, though.

Tool and Opeth, play so different music one can\'t really compare them. They\'re a lot alike when it comes to the complexity and quiality of their work but music wise Opeth still remains true to their death metal roots while incorparating classical singing in it, Tool has no death metal roots at all.

This is an OK site, but it\'s all live stuff. They had a tendency to get kinda sloppy drunk when playing out, so keep that in mind. BTW, this is not a pirate site, \'cos the guy got their permission. They post every once in a while over @ http://www.swervedriver.com

O.K. I definitely dig-em. Which album would be a good starting point?
They are pretty much a "post-punk" rock band with sufficient writing/playing/vocal abilities, but retain some of the rawness/drunkenness/simplicity of early punk, right?! That\'s all good in my books. Plus, I have a soft-spot for any band whose bass sound is very akin to that of an \'ol Ampeg SVT.
-
Ampeg SVT it is... my band opened up for these guys in \'98 (i think...)
very cool guys.
I would suggest starting out with their first: "Raise".. Then their last :"99th dream"
PM me... I\'ve got extras... They might be hard to find... ;)

yea beatles is cool, i really like john lennon ( as a solo artist aswell)
found a few new songs too
all of new cky albums
flesh in the gear
inhuman creation station ( my fav cky song0
-
John Lennon is the man .
I\'ve been listening to a lot of David Usher as of late tho\'.
-
I\'m absolutely addicted to System of a Down\'s new CD. Highway Song, Nuguns, Roulette and Innervision are especially good. :)
-
Although John Lennon deserves to be mentioned as the number 1 artist of all time no matter who you are, a lot of credit deserves to go to Paul McCartney too. The Beatles wern\'t just a one man band like say Nirvana(Kurt>Jesus), Paul did wrote and co-wrote a vast amount of songs. I would equate George and Ringo to Krist and Dave of Nirvana.
Soundgarden-My Wave
