I got this game this weekend, and I love this game.  Maybe its just because I have been playing socom for so long and its nice for a little change, But it seems I can play this game forever.  Its kind of cool that you can play with 2 people on the same Playstation and still be online.

I read they added more chat commands or something to the game... something about if you don\'t play on a server with autoaim, you get more chat features or something (cause autoam and chat use the same button or something)

How does it work?  Is it typing, or voice or something?

I\'m telling you right now guys...don\'t pass this game up. It\'s great. This is all I\'ve been playing right now. If there was ever a game that proved that you can\'t always listen to what the reviewers say..cough..egm..cough...it\'s this game. One of the complaints about this game was a lack of the ability to communicate.

But now, yes, the developers have added a chat system where now it is possible to communicate. For those of you who have been playing socom I think you at least owe it to yourself to rent this game. I\'m telling you that you won\'t be disappointed. The game kicks ass! It\'s multiplayer bliss! The reason why I\'m so on this game is because I want the community to grow. The more the merrier! Hmm... I probably would get it, if I didn\'t already have Tribes 2 for my PC.  Even tho I never play it.

Anyway... the communication they added, wiseboy.  How does it work?  Keyboard or is it voice or something?

It\'s a voice chat menu screen that can be called up by pressing the square button. From there you can select several messages such as "I\'ll defend the generator!" or "I\'ll go for the enemy flag". It\'s not perfect but it\'s forgivable considering how much fun you have playing it!

Ok, so how does that extra chat menu work again? Is there anything special you have to do? I was in a room that had no auto targeting, and I couldn\'t get the menu to pop up by pressing the square button. Also, is there any other hints/cheats to know about this game? I play Socom more than Tribes, but I\'d like to learn all I can do in Tribes, since it is a far more difficult game to get used to playing. Please let me know if you can be of any assistance, thank...

No, in the game I use the name Ahamkara. I play quite often. Add me to your buddy list if you want to. I\'m not too good a player, though. I play better in SOCOM then in Tribes...

I have gotten TOO good in tribes.  I dont think people like playing against me.  I love the every man for himself capture the flag.  Its complete Chaos

Sorry , but because of my excitement for the game I left out some key info :D First, in order to enable the chat menu online, you need to go to your buddy list and type in CHAT-TEST as a "buddy". Second this feature will only work on the dedicated servers. Ya know the servers that have the arrow before them. These are the servers put up by the developers (INEVITABLE). It was mentioned that the developers are working so that this chat feature also works on random servers as well. But for now only on the dedicated servers.

Once you get the chat menu up it\'s pretty self-explanatory. The statements that you want communicated will configure to the buttons on the controller. So if say the statement, "I\'ll attack the enemy generator!" is on the right side of the screen you would hit the circle button. If it was on top, then you would hit the triangle button. Get it? You\'ll see when you do it.

i got it today as a present. kicks ass. I just cant get used to the fricken controls,lol. And, what freaked me out was the cd made a weird noise when i put it in the ps2. But i let it do its thing and it worked. It sounded like the cd was trying to spin, but was being stopped from the sides of the tray. At least thats what it sounded like.

yeah, thats the blue disks for you.  A lot of the blues do that to my playstation aswell.  I wish they didnt make games on them anymore, sometimes games wont work unless I keep reseting.

I cant help it.  Im just thinking about how when I come home tonight, I\'m not going to have Socom or Tribes to play online.   I\'m dying here man!  AHHHHHHH, Hopefully we can get the router soon.

u can do cature the flag, deathmatch, or team deathmatch(which are self-explanatory). there might be more gameplays, havnt had a chance to play it that much. There are 4 vehicles. I thought i wouldnt like it since i dont really like Quake which is what i thought it would be like, but i like this game a lot. Cuz even tough u can die a lot, its fun as hell just going around blowing people up.

Tribes is a great game to just throw in and play.  I have found myself playing for hours and not even relizing it until I look at the clock.  There are a few different games.  The most popular is team capture the flag.  Two teams up to 8 go the the opponents base, steal the flag and try to make it back to their flag without gettin killed.  Everyone for themselves capture the flag is a little more fun IMO.  When you spawn, you automatically have a flag.  everytime you kill someone, you can take their flag, and you have to work your way to the nexus (This is where you deliver your flags)  If you have 5 flags, and someone kills you you respawn with just one flag again.  it gets pretty hairy.  ofcourse their is just an all out deathmatch, but I dont usually like to play that one very much.  Then their is capture the base, where you objective is to keep every base on the level in your teams favor.  This one is also pretty fun.  The vehicles are pretty fun and the weapons are cool too.  If I had to rate this game from 1 - 10, I\'d give it a 8.5

is that commin out for xbox or n e thing else?  the tribes 2 for the PC is cool, never played the ps2 one
