Eh, for what it\'s worth......
I have QWEST (formerly US West) DSL service. They use PPPoA/e configuration.
For the Loooongest time (since I was a beta tester for the NA back in APRIL!!) I have been trying to find a modem that will route the PPPoA signal (with VCI/VPI of 0,32) INDEPENDENTLY of the PC
Well.... after 3 DSL modems I found one..
ready?......
wait for it.....
The Speedstreem (Siemens) 5667 works as a standalone DSL modem, without routing to ANYTHING!!! This has saved me from either drilling and running cable through 2 floors of my house or moving my PC to the basement.
I just hook up the modem to the PS2 and then the wall phone jack and POOF--- online baybee!!!
Of course Only the PC or the PS2 can be on at one time but WTFC (-- that\'s Who the F cares--).
Anyway, Just thought I would share.:D
(BTW, you have to configure (Through a kick ass GUI) the modem on your PC first, and then you can rock)
