Title: WC3 error
Post by: nataku on December 03, 2002, 09:46:56 AM
Alright... I\'m playing through the game again and right now I sit at the third human chapter... something like Blackrock and Roll.

Just off to the right of your start, there is a camp of dwarves that you can talk to.  When I try to, my game crashes.  The error log the game creates says...

Quote
This application has encountered a critical error:

The file data is corrupt.

Program:   d:\\program files\\warcraft iii\\war3.exe
File:   Sound\\Dialogue\\HumanCampaign\\Human02\\H02DwarfHunter17.mp3

I can find nothing on the internet that says anything about that file or even about this error.  Blizzard.com says nothing, either.

I assume the file just became currupt and I have to copy it from the CD.  Problem is... it\'s not on the CD.  It\'s not on my HDD, either.  I don\'t know where the file is.

I\'ve searched my HDD, searched the CD, nothing comes up.

Reinstall I guess?  I\'d hate to do that, mainly because I\'m lazy... seems like a pretty stupid decesion not to allow files to be copied from the CD if they become corrupt.

Maybe it\'s a hidden file?

It\'s probably compressed inside the mpq or another file.  Your best bet is to e-mail Blizzard.  They might give you a better option than re-installing.
