Title: 2nd player troubler
Post by: ahifever on December 07, 2002, 11:28:30 PM
my 2nd player won\'t work. I\'ve tried switching controllers still same problem. I was wondering if I plugged in a multi-tap accessory into player one, would I be able to plug my controllers into the multi-tap and now be able to play two players?

First of all, are you selecting a 2p mode game? If yes, read the next suggestion.
Are you sure the controller is all right, not damaged? If yes, read the next suggestion.
Aren\'t there any visible damages into the second port? If no, read the next suggestion.
Call the tech service or contact Sony for replacement.

Also, what game are you trying to play with 2 players and are you using a controller older than a Dual Shock 2™? I\'ve found that regardless of backwards compatibility, some PS2 games just don\'t work right with any PS one controllers. Project Eden is one that I can think of off the top of my head that won\'t work unless you\'re using a DS2 controller.

When playing through a multitap their are several games that will pick it up in 2 player (Mostly games that are made for up to 4 /8 players.).  However there are also several games that just don\'t pick it up, exp. GT3, NFSHP2, THPS3 and Rumble Racing to mention a few.  I think your problem lies in your second port.
