I am.
But some things are already bothering me. Is this the last ST movie? Is the Enterprise going to be destroyed again?
Will Lor kill Data? Worst of all Deanna married to Will. Bald Romulans?
What an odd mix. Just hope its good Trekin.
-
Not me, I absolutely love star wars, but Star Trek is too old school for me. Can\'t take the old characters much longer.
and TV Show ---> movies is not a good transition as shown by recent history.

I\'ll be seeing it when it premiers around these parts.
But it isn\'s Lore that they discovered, it\'s another character called B4 (originally called B9 or Benign)
[sp]Enterprise won\'t be destroyed, however it\'ll be very VERY damaged by an head on collission with the Schimitar (Shinzon\'s ship). Most of the crew will leave, IIRC Picard and La Forge will only stay behind. Riker will get command of the USS. Titan. Shinzon the big bad bald guy is Picards clone, a left over from an abandoned Romulan plot against the Federation.[/sp]
These are not Romulans, these are the never before seen only heard of Remans. In the movie they were made into an almost slave like mining race.

I will boldly go where The Hurricane has never gone before. :)

Best thing about the original series except of course for Kirks patented fighting style was womens choice of clothing. I mean uniforms that don\'t even cover their bottoms. :D
-
im going but only to scout for prospective asses to kick

Lt. Ohura was my Number 1 TV babe when i was growing up....
oh how i wish she had a "special" incomming message for me ;)
yup Lt. Ohura & Emma Peal from the AvengersSexoursided my TV World.

I wonder what it would be like to bounce a blue chick. Kirk envy.
-
He bounced a green chick, an Orion slave girl.
But he bounced a chick in just about every episode...so I may just have forgotten some Andorian or something that he might have coupled with.
-
Just how different would The Next Generation be if Picard scored with a woman every episode... THINK OF THE POSSIBILITIES! [/trekkie mode off]

I have read mixed reviews about Nemesis. I\'m gonna see it Monday. It can\'t be worse than the POS "INSURECTION". That was as bad as Star Trek V: The Final Fronteir! This is not going to be the last Star Trek film. I have heard that they will continue to make Star Trek movies blending the cast of Next Generation, Deep Space 9, and Voyaguer.
-
I saw this movie today.
Best Star Trek movie in years.
It easily blows away the last SEVERAL Star Trek films. I can\'t say that it\'s perfect, but it\'s very good. Very interesting story by John Logan, Rick Berman, and Brent Spiner. Good script by John Logan. Excellent casting, particularly in Tom Hardy as Shinzon. He really makes the film. Good score. I\'m glad they hired a long time professional editor to direct this one (instead of another Trek actor like Jonathan Frakes). Editing is one of the most important jobs in film production, and I\'ve noticed that good editors usually make very good directors.
[sp]Did you notice that Will Wheaton appears at Riker & Troi\'s wedding, but he doesn\'t have any lines, and he doesn\'t appear later in the film? Man, they really gave him the shaft![/sp]
-
heh he originally had lines, but it was cut out in the end. I hated that actually, as much as I disliked young Wesley Crusher I really like Wil Wheaton. But the thing is, they kinda have to explain how he got back, I mean....he went a away to some place with the Traveller in Final Journey.

I dont think we will get it up here, I wouldn\'t of seen it anyway, i think its total geek shit.
-
Thanks, you know how much we value your opinion.
-
it usually amuses me thinkin about comments like "total geek shit" because the geeks that are being ridiculed are usually the people that design just about everything around them these days.
ehh
-
Have you seen it yet nO-One, or has it not opened in your area yet?

Sadly no, us Euro\'s usually have to wait. But I think my local geek shop will have an early screening of it. When I\'m not sure.
ooseven, too true man. I mean where would we be without geeky Jeff Goldblum and his powerbook from ID4 :p

I saw this movie last night for $5. It was pretty good, kept me entertained the entire time, but I have a few major complaints. Keep in mind that I\'m not entirely sure what happened in the last couple seasons of TNG.
[sp]I find it highly unlikely that Picard would approve the uploading of all of Data\'s knowledge into this retard, B4. When they found the B4 pieces on the planet, everyone acted like they had never even heard of Lore. Didn\'t even mention his name. Have Data and Lore not caused enough damage...so they decide to go ahead and "see what happens" with this new guy?
It seemed to me like the trailers made the bad guy out to be some sort of shape-shifter...I thought I remember some sort of morphing...not the Riker/Troi scene, either.
And lastly...I was expecting some great tragedy. I was sure they were going to kill off Troi or Riker before the 2nd wedding. But no, they kill off Data, THEN they cop out by having what amounts to a replacement Data.[/sp]
Yep, this movie awakened my inner geek.
-
I agree with your points, Sara.
[sp]They obviously inserted the data download for B4 in order to set up a future Brent Spiner character for any movies or television shows that follow. One thing I\'m confused about though: I thought I remembered a scene in the TNG series finale episode where Data and a few other characters are back on Earth much further in the future. Picard and Geordi are old men, and Data looks pretty much the same. If Data was destroyed in the Nemesis movie, who was that on Earth? Was that B4?[/sp]
-
Brent Spiner has talked about him being too old to play an android that doesn\'t age, they originally planned to kill him off in Insurection. They could of course find a way to make him age, in the episode "Inheritance" Data finds out the the guy who made him Dr. Noonian Soong also made a replica of his dead wife, that android was so perfect that she aged and all that stuff, she didn\'t even know she was an android. They could say that they got some of her programming or whatnot and put it into his systems...but that probly won\'t be done.
The episode you were referring too was the TNG finale called All Good Things. That future didn\'t happen because the time loop thing caused by the anomily created by Q never existed...(well actually Picard created it in 3 different time periouds but that\'s a whole other story) try saying that 10 times fast heh heh. Picard solved the Q\'s puzzle so the future didn\'t come true. Kick ass episode too.

damn I watch too much Trek

Well I finally saw Nemsis tonight, and I must say I\'m pleased with what I saw.
Not quite First Contact quality (that movie had me on the edge of my seat when I saw it) but still very nice.
There were a few things that bothered me, first off in the beginning the just happened to detect faint positron signatures from some solar system near the Romulan boarder.....THAT IS LIGHTYEARS AWAY FROM EARTH, which is were they were coming from, I seriously doubt they have sensors both powerful and sensitive enough to detect that.
Secondly, when they landed on Coridan (where there was a pre warp civilisation) they just about broke every rule in the prime directive, didn\'t even bother to atleast disguise themselves.
And then there was the usual, how the hell did the Remans manage to evolve into such radically different beings than the Romulans in about 2000 years, they looked too different. And how did Wesley get too earth for the wedding....wasn\'t he travelling through different dimensions with the traveller?
But all in all....good movie :D
