Title: Got my new MB :D
Post by: §ôµÏG®ïñD on December 13, 2002, 05:11:44 AM
My GA-7VRX MB doesn\'t like Geforce4 cards. The rev2 of the board was meant to fix this voltage problem the board has with gf4 cards. When i brought this mb i was glad they had fixed the problem. To only find out it\'s not so much a fix, but more of a short term solution. It\'s lasted around 5 months before screwing up on me.. I\'ve searched around the net to find LOTS of people are getting the same problems. So i took back the motherboard and got his nice little mb. :)

Only thing i don\'t like about it is the colors.. Argh!!
I know they\'re trying to make Motherboards more user friendy. Easier to install etc.   But if you\'ve got no experience in installing them, don\'t. Or at least get someone to guide u etc.  :)

This is close to my audio connectors. mine also included the center/sub and rear speaker connectors. the front are done on the board.. Although i\'ll probably never use it. It\'s good incase i ever need to remove my soundcard or it dies on me.

If you guys are ever to buy a XP mb.. get this one. :D

Via are very good mm.  I haven\'t had any problems with them. It\'s either VIA or AMD.. I prefer VIA. Hell if i could choice between VIA or Intel.. VIA again. :)

Only chipset i\'ve ever had a problem with is AliMagik.

it costed around 249 AUD. bout 125USD

Well VIA haven\'t really been causing much trouble lately, but their reputation persists.

But SiS has a very good chipset going.

I\'ve had via and Sis mbs.. never had problems with either. I choice ONLY Via and SIS.

Via and Sis tend to be the most compatible with Tv/video/capture cards. Alimagik have tones of problems with them. :/

i could have gotten it even cheaper.. in australia 250 is pretty expensive for a mb.. most boards cost under 200 here.

Thanks for another example of overpriced. :)

but we all know, only the brands and chipsets u buy is the only good brands and chipsets out.. Everything else just sucks.

All bow to mm..

if you\'ve got nothing good to say mm, don\'t say anything at all. I\'m kinda getting tired of your "Mines better then yours" bs.
Do u have a small penis or something!!!

Ps. visiontek sucks compared to leadtek, msi, Chaintech, Gainwood, (Hell even PNY which don\'t include the following). Atleast they include adapters for composite, Videocables,  Dual vid display, and DVI adapters..

so.. Mines better then yours ;)

souly is this the GA-7VAXP ultra or the GA-7VAXP 1.0 ? either way its a great mobo, and if i decide to go with AMD as my next processor then  this is gonna be my choice for a mobo.
Title: Got my new MB :D
Post by: §ôµÏG®ïñD on December 17, 2002, 12:29:04 PM
It\'s not the ultra. The ultra is abit too extreme really, it costs 65 bucks more and the only thing i can tell that it has over the 7vaxp is the  Silicon Image sil3112A controller. The ultra is missing connectors.  My boards revision is 1.1 not 1.0. :) I have all the optional crap too :D

If u do get either board.. get the latest revision.. 1.0 has problems with some processors.. The voltage is too high or too low. The latest bios is meant to fix the problem. but with 1.1 u won\'t have to worry either way. :)

cool board, i was going to get the 7VAXP also, then i figured i wasn\'t going to be using the RAID feature, so i went with the 7VAX.
what other stuff you got in your box?  like cpu and vid card?

btw, my 7VAX was $89 USD at a local computer shop
