i would prefer a non-cel shaded zelda, and im sure im not alone

and i agree with this, but MY preference lies elsewhere

this could be THE greatest game ever, BUT i would still prefer a non-cel shaded atmospshere

will i buy it? yes
will i enjoy it? probably
will i wish it wasnt cel-shaded while im enjoying it? absolutely
will i complain about it? proabably not, it will be a moot point by then (expecially if it propels nintendo past m$ in sales)

Maybe it\'ll look way better when it\'s running.. maybe not..

It\'s something that simple screenshots just can\'t do justice to. Those who hated cel shading games still love this regardless so maybe knocking it before you\'ve tried it is... unwarranted? Just a thought! ;)

even the screenshots alone are enough for me to knock it

its not like its the 1st game to use cel-shading and consequently make me not like it

It\'s not really cel-shaded. At least not in the style that we\'re familar with.. this is like Samurai Jack.

And the animation is unparalleled, from what impressions say..

Yeah, I don\'t either. I mentioned over at trigger that the first time I saw the name, I actually thought it said "wind WANKER" :p

Agreed. It\'s an ass name. Then again, the Japanese name is horrid just the same, unlike their "Link to the Past" subtitle, "Triforce of the Gods." Now THAT\'S a good subtitle.

Nintendo had no input on either game.. they just said that Philips could use the license, and they ended up making a handful of crappy (and in some cases.. queer) games with them. Just trying to clear up any confusion. :)

Yes, in name they are Zelda titles.. but they aren\'t considered part of the Zelda series in any other way. They don\'t connect to the storyline, nobody that worked on any of the 9 official Zelda games worked on them..

Heck, they don\'t even share the same gameplay. They\'re not considered to be official Zelda games, end of story!

cel shaded is a decent technique, but this celshaded atmosphere should have no problems appealing to 10 year olds

It just has a cell shaded feel. I mean really, look at those screens and try to tell me that you see shaded borders. Well maybe im blind but i wasnt really a fan before, but this game has that mystical/ artsy feel that is just downright interesting.

Post by: Blade on January 01, 2003, 04:22:20 PM: It\'s a different type of cel-shading. Miyamoto likes to call it "toon-shading".. but personally I think it looks hand-drawn.. essentially the same art-style as the CN show Samurai Jack. No outlines, very artsy, nice colors.
