I have a scientist looking into it at the moment. The solution lies mostly in knowing binary, anything else and you\'re just lucky.

Still arseholes to him though, smiling back and winning constantly.

I noticed that if you leave only one on the top row at the beginning his reaction is "tricky".I am trying to find the logic from that as a start.

I have been trying it with that same exact move for the past hour Unicorn.  #$%@!! is all I have to say.  I have even tried the odds and evens on rows, meaning I leave evens while he tries to leave odd numbers of pearls.

That you have Vid, its sort of addicting though.  One question... is it winnable?

It is winnable.  I just won it on about my 15th try.  There is a pattern to it also.

Ok, I just beat it twice in a row.  A clue...have him go first, and take out the top row as soon as you can.

Ah, the pearl game.  I remember spending so many hours on that before figuring it out.

You have to let him go first.  Eventually you want it so that at the beginning of his turn, one pearl is in one row, two pearls in another row, and three pearls in another, while the last row is empty.  Working it from there is pretty easy.

There\'s a simple way to cheat so that you win 100% of the time with ease, but I\'m sure it\'s been figured out already.

Yeah, that was the basic strategy I used too.  I just pretty much worked my way backwards, figuring out what I could do to trap him.  That\'s what seemed to work.

Roofles, I remember being obsessed with this game. I remember spending hours last year trying to figure out a pattern to beat him. I did it once on time, but by accident. :( I eventually figured out thw whole 3 2 1 0 thing by noticing that\'s a position you could not come back from(same with 2 and 2 when its your turn) and could beat him every single time.

If you really, REALLY want to beat him then follow way\'s intructions. Work him down to 3 2 1 0 and you\'ll always win. Its not even hard to do that at all.

There is an easiest way to beat him that doesnt need any thinking at all.

Just open 2 windows. On window 1 let him do the first move and do the same move on window2.Let him play on win2 and do the same move he did in win1.Continue doing this and you ll beat him on the second window.

The strategy to win is to:

1. Write down the number in each row in binary numbers.
2. For most of the game, to try and leave the sum of all of the numbers (with no carrying) equal to zero.
3. Near the end, switch, leaving only one or 3 lots of one pearl left.

Sometimes, the computer cheats when playing this strategy, about 3 moves away from winning, the man strikes his hand down without taking any pearls, and you have to play again. Usually, he does not do this, and his eyes enlarge, and he walks away.
