You have such a wide range in cars there.. S2000 to an Audi A6! Completly different vehicles with different ideas.
You need to write down on paper what you need, what you want, what you can\'t live with out.
For me - I needed a four door, I wanted a sports car, and I could not live with out AWD.
So I looked, I had a 2000 Nissan Pathfinder for a year, but then I realized I wanted a car / sports car. So I looked at the Subaru 2.5RS, then the WRX, then the Audi A4.
I realized that most of my time was going to be spent comuting, so I leaned more toward the Audi. Then I test drove the 2.8, found a great deal on it and now thats what I have!!!!
So may I also suggest to your list the new Audi A4 - very nice car, refined interior, much nicer its BMW competitor. BMW makes a fine car mind you, just the Audis have always been a bit better on the inside. The Audi is also very tunable. But like I said, you need to figure out what your wants and needs are.

True that, it\'s just that all of those cars have something I like. And since it would most probably just be me driving it a two-seater isn\'t out of the question. But that doesn\'t mean I don\'t want a sedan either. :)
I\'m sure I missed a bunch of other potential cars too. Audi A4 as you mention and BMW 3-series etc.
At this time though, it\'s still just me fantasizing. A few things would have to happen first before I\'m getting a car (and that\'d prolly mean a couple of years too :)).

Im liking kirath\'s Nissan, although i would have to say to go with the Porsche Boxster. I really like the Audi A4 also.

You don\'t even know if you want a 2 seat sports car or a 5 seat sedan.
Don\'t get a 528. They are slow and they are about to restyle the 5 so the value will drop.
I personally would go for an M3 any day over all the other choices.
You get the speed of the sports cars you listed with the room of a 4 seater.

You guys with European imports find that it costs more to maintain/repair? An acquaintance of mine has a BMW and said it cost him $500 to get a new Xeon bulb replaced at the dealership. :nut:
Also remember the G35 is 2-door but is a 4-seater. I just hope you and your friends aren\'t giants.
I\'m Nissan biased but I\'d choose that sexy little Mercedes K over everything here.

Whatever you do dont get the hyundai!!! Replace that coupe with the new Integra Type-R.
But out of all those choices...for me, it would have to be:
1. Honda S2000
2. Nissan Z/Infiniti G35 Coupe

Why can\'t your buddy replace his own bulb? I don\'t know too many people of any type of car who go to a dealership to replace a light bulb.
And yes they are outrageously expensive. There was one thing I saw on another forum that they wanted 1700 bucks in labor to switch out the AC controls from Manual to the Computerized controls. Apparently in Canada they have manual controls on some cars while in america it\'s standard to be fully automatic climate control.
Anyway, the guy ended it up figuring it out and doing it himself in about a half an hour.
I was in the dealership the other day and a lady was having her belts changed, brake pads, and wipers and I think they got 500 bucks out of her. You know how easy it is to change that stuff yourself? heh.

Thats odd, I just really don\'t like the Boxster while everyone else loves it. After riding in my friends dads 911 the Boxster seems like a chicky version.

I like the Audi A6. It just looks nice, and I *think* it was in the movie Ronin. ;) I like that Audi convertible though. I don\'t know anything about cars though so my opinion is based on what looks to suit my needs the most: 4 doors, classy look, just plain nice all around.

I just fail to see the point in buying a car that has such and such horsepower or a sports car design on the fact that it can go from 0-100MPH in so many seconds. Speed limits around here peek at 70 tops and there are cars that go up to 180 on the speedometer, why? It doesn\'t make any sense. At least it\'s good for high speed chases in Hollywood action films, or the occasional time when someone needs to go 88MPH in order to go back to the future and save ones parents. ;)

And I somewhat agree about the two seater, but I have to say if you are ever going to own a 2 seater, get one now. Cause you won\'t get another till your kids are out of the house an dthen everyone will rag you for it being your mid-life crisis car. When really it\'s just the first opportunity you\'ve had to get what you want.
I personally don\'t like the boxter. The single exhaust out the center is just a turn off to me. I think that may be the same reason why Racer likes it.

The engine has had a lot of work since this pic, looks the same, but a bunch of uless hoses etc. have been removed.
Bets time at the track is a 14.3 @ 97 MPH.
I didn\'t expect to get flamed for posting such a simple comment, I guess I will have to justify.
1. I am a domestics man, I do not like imports unless it\'s a beater to save gas.
2. The reason why I said the Honda S2000 blows is because it does... I can easily hand thier asses to them with my car in a race, they are extremly cramped up for a 2 seater, and they have NO HP on the lower rpm\'s if you like handling, then the Honda S2000 is not a bad choice, but if you want speed like I do, please look elswhere.
All of the other cars are way out of my price rance so I don\'t care abotu them, All I know is I paid $3,600 for my car and people pay over $20k for the ones listed and my car is faster than all of them except the Boxter s & the 911, I can beat a boxter on a good day.
To put it another way, I love domestics and I don\'t like Imports.

I guess my neon AND eclipse MUST be better than your POS since they are faster.
You do know why honda\'s dont dont have much torque or hp low right? B/C they rev to the sky d00d. Makes up for low RPM power.

You need to shut your mouth and know that your aren\'t talkin to an inexperience car guy. Yea, imports have 4 bangers that are all revving and NO tork, every import guy says "oh I have 200-240 hp!" that won\'t get ya far when you have 120-150 ft. lbs. of tork like a Honda S2000 does.
When would you beat me, when were going 110 mph and my gears finally slow me down? or when I\'m 3 cars ahead of you off the line because your car is torkless?
I hate peopel that judge people without knowing them, did I say if you have a slower car than mine it must suck, no, but I\'m saying it now about your cars.
And who cares about a car that revvs up to 8 grand when the power band is in the 6-8k rpm range, and is a TOTAL slug the rest of the time. I have tork throughout all of my rpm range.

Yes, before I spun a bearing and toasted my motor I was running low 14\'s all day at 96 degree\'s 98% humidity.
Eclipse is faster hittin low 13\'s...mid consistently.
Plus I do have the weight factor in my favor as well. How much do yo weigh? 3500lbs? Im more around 2200.
I\'ll ADD 200 lbs and still clean up with you.

Ok then, what elevation do you live in? probably sea level. I live in a 3,800ft. elevation, if I was to run at sea lvl. I would easily run mid 13\'s. The weight difference also helps you immensly. My car weights roughly 3,400 pounds.
I\'m wondering what mods you have done toy our cars? You must have put a bunch into them to get them to run that fast. My engine is BUTT STOCK, the internals have yet to be touched. Only mods are an under drive pulley & SLP Siamesed runners, & an after market exaust.
p.s. Do you have any time slips to confirm your times????
& my 14.3 was on a 102 degree day, Can\'t wait to go to the track on the 28th in 40 degree weather.

Both are turbo beasts and the usual that go along with them. The eclipse was cheap to get fast, but the neon was a little penny but not excessive. Not yet anyway. :D

Id have to dig some slips up and scan them when I go back home after the holidays.

There is no car I hate more than the camaro. They are so moronic. I have ridden in several and they are pieces of shit. The site lines are miserable.
Sure you can get up to speed pretty fast, but every single one of these cars will have your ass in the corners. My car would smoke your ass on a road coarse. And oh, does anyone live on a drag strip? Um, no.

People think 3rd Gen Camaro\'s cannot handle well on road courses, well let me put it this way. 3rd gen Camaros & Fire birds/Trans Ams do not have frames, they have a unibody wich means they only have a frame where the engine bay is and thats it. That\'s why when camaros get in accidents there usually mangled, and thier body flexes a bunch on sharp turns, this can be easily fixed with sub frame connectors, bigger sway bar, bigger rear sway bar etc. its a good thing I have these mods done to my car already.
My car can take 30mph corners at lik 65 with no problem at all, it doesn\'t even feel like my car is leaning. Now if you think these cars will get me in the corners, then my friend you have the best crack in the world. These cars are slower than mine, and this is true, therefore I will accelerate faster than them execept the porsche 911. On a road course we will have to slow down here and there to make some turns, this is when acceleration helps out. I will totally catch up with you eventually & pass your ass if I haven\'t off the line with out a problem then you can have fun trying to play catch up...;)

Personally, Sammy, I\'d go with the S2000. I wanted one but couldn\'t find one or afford one, so I got my Celica GT (which I love). And as for the comment Ryu made about not likin two seaters - its an aquired taste. I personally love the closed in space and the feeling that you are in a death trap .

I like having space and knowing that if you have to go to the grocery store, you\'ll be alright with what you buy and can make it home just fine without tying anything to the roof of your car. ;)

I had a 300z a few years back. Hed to get it out of my system.
I remember one time my buddy was looking at cars and we went and test drove a miata. This was back when they first came out.
I told the sales guy, "I\'d sure hat eto get into an accident in this car."
The guy actually told me, "Well wouldn\'t you rather be dead than to lose an arm or something?"
Um, didn\'t buy that.
I probably won\'t ever get a 2 seater again. I like my 330 and my next car I want to be an M5. With 2 car seats.
