I have been looking at the different collectors edition Lord of the Rings DVD\'s and there are two that I have questions about:
The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring (Platinum Series Extended Edition) 4 Disc set
and
The Lord Of The Rings Collector\'s Edition DVD Set
Which one is a better value? I know the Collector\'s edition is around $70 and comes with a lot of stuff.
PS - I already have the Wide Screen version.

As far as I recall the \'big\' version includes two book-thingies (sorry, forgot the English word :p) and an extra disc containing a documentary about LOTR.
I have the 4-disc version and it\'s most excellent. I didn\'t really wanted to pay that more extra for something I didn\'t need. But if you really need it, then hey... knock yourself out. :)
For value I\'d recommend the 4-disc set tho\'.

How did I know the "resident hobbit" would be the one to answer this question? ;)

The "bigger" version also has the National Geographic DVD about Tolkein... $20 on it\'s own....Plus, who can live without the Argonath Bookends :D

I wish I had €60 to buy it, perhaps after March. Anybody knows if they will launch a special pack with the three extended versions after the return of the king?
