Wow the conversion looks better than I thought. Also the shadows are very well made.Almost in par with the XBOX version.Cool!
The quality of the Textures remain to be seen though
-
This is looking very promising indeed.
-
maybe its poor screens, but doesnt impress me
-
some more here looks decent

-
Yeap looks even better in the other screens. But the textures need some work.
-
A few questions enter my head...
1. Is this game going to be a choppier version than it\'s X-Box/PS2 counterpart?
2. Will the PS2 version offer any pluses that were not included in the other two?
3. The graphics... the worst of the three, or somewhere in the middle?
-
splinter cell should stick to xbox
-
I\'ll get it on pc. So i\'m happy. :)
-
is it comin to PC?
-
Yup. There is even a demo for it out now.
As for Splinter Cell for the PS2, well, the screens look alright. Not as good as the Xbox (no surprise) but not terrible either.
Now, will it play as well, will the framerate be good, that is a wait and see.
-
I would say that PC and Xbox would be the only systems to play it on. But maybe PS2 will surprise me
-
Looks to be going the way of Max Payne...
-
I\'m not sure it is going exactly the way of Max Payne (where it was good on the PC and Xbox, but [at least from reviews and so forth] was EXTREMELY inferior on the PS2). The screenshots look pretty good, and, possibly might even play well if we ever get a video/impression from anyone. That being said, PC/Xbox versions should still be better if only because...well, this game is made for them.
-
It could be great.
-
i hope its good on PS2, but if it isnt ill get it for PC, and if isnt good for that ill get xbox.
-
Now im excited :) !!!!!!!!

Well the graphical difference is quite noticable. All of the bells and whistles that made the XBox version so loverly to look at have been toned down. As was to be expected in a quick port. The difference between the two versions seems to be comparable to the difference between Max Payne PS2 and Max Payne XBox.
-
I didn\'t say that they weren\'t noticable. Anyone who has seen the Xbox and PC version will see an OBVIOUS difference between those versions versus PS2 versions. Now, Max Payne, from what I have read, not only was it a crappy game to look at, it was also a crappy game to play (framerate, etc.). Since I have yet to see how the PS2 version runs at, I can\'t say it will be like Max Payne.
Note, I didn\'t say it will not follow the same route though. So, you could very well be right in that we have another Max Payne on our hands.
-
Well, I merely meant a sloppy port with huge graphical downgrades. :) Given the similar PC/XBox backgrounds of the titles, I thought the comparison was fair, to a degree.
I didn\'t mean to say that it will be unplayable, much the way some people view MP on PS2.
-
Some new screens. Looking pretty good imo. If, by the time the PS2 version is released, I haven\'t got the money to buy an Xbox AND SC, I think .... just maybe I\'ll have to settle for the PS2 SC.

edit ; note that the bars from the cells in the prison pic are alpha
channelled textures instead of \'real\' geometry in the Xbox version.
LOL Anyway, I see no reason why PS2 wouldn\'t be able to handle complex lighting / atmospheric FX. Just look at Ico, SH2, SH3 and Baldurs Gate on how good PS2 can be at such fancy FX.
But indeed, it all depends on how the ppl at Ubisoft will be able to handle that on the PS2. Keeping fingers crossed.... :hold:

Im really like that last picture. Looks neato.
-
I ended up getting the X-Box version so I\'m happy anyway.
-
I thought the game sucked generally.
