I think cancer gets less press because it can be cured in lots of instances. Of course not all, but the treatments for it are far better now then they were 10 years ago. AIDS still has no cure at all and spreads in a very specific way whereas cancer happens almost at random. I think with how people get the diseases makes a difference. Anyways, the media is stupid when it comes to daily life news. Whatever is the most shocking is obviously going to be the most reported on.

My GrandFather died of cancer just a few years ago. I swear if anyone had ever made fun of him in my presence, they would have known what it felt like to suffer.

Funny thing once happened. Was in graphics class in front of my mate Shane... The class was finished doing this bulls#$t work sheet, but Shane didn\'t keep up with the class. So the teacher got pissed off with him and told to hurry up and finish. The teacher turned around to the board and started to writing again. So Shane pretended to masturbate as if to say he was calling the teacher a wanker. The teacher again told Shane to hurry up while he was facing the board.. Shane responce was to say while pretending to wank "I’m nearly finished" classic stuff. The whole class cracked up laughing and the teacher had no clue. Man did that piss the teacher off. Haha classic stuff.

My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer at 35 and my father was diagnosed with prostrate cancer at 48. Personally, I see nothing funny about this damn thread or Vivi\'s antics.

I haven\'t read this thread all that much but I am sorry to hear about your wife. I\'m glad she is doing fine now. My mother has had a few scares after visiting her doctors over the years and nothing has come of it, thank God. She is always being checked because of her family history and it\'s always a nightmare waiting for results.

I agree! My list would be very long if started listing all the people in my family who have died because of cancer. I guess VIVI is pretty young and probably wishes he did not post this.

1 week after my wife and I got married her mom was diagnosed with cancer. She lived with us for about 2 months before she died.

Do you guys all remember the scare I had with Logan last year when his nutrophil count in his blood supply was 0? We were in the children\'s cancer ward for 3 days. I sat there with him on the operating table while he went to sleep to get his spine tapped to check for bone cancer. I lived for 3 days thinking my precious son was going to die of the same disease that Lona\'s mom died of a couple years prior. That was by far the worst three days of my life. I\'ve never cried so much ever. I didn\'t speak the entire time I was there because I knew every time I spoke I would cry. I was petrofied. But it turned out ok in the end and it\'s something he should outgrow thank God(Or whoever you believe in). I don\'t have enough words to give to express my feelings to the people who are living with cancer.

My fiance lost her mother to cancer on June 18th, 2001.
She lost her hair, she suffered many months from chemotherapy, throwing up, living in pain, not being able to leave the house.....all that and she was able to recover. She lived a normal life for about 16 months until we realized the cancer had spread to her liver. She died on said date.
Was that funny to you, Vivi?

I remember we were watching a movie in my english class last year. I sat next to my friend because I was more isolated from him and a couple others. So I sat in the back with them. My friend next to me drops his pencil. He doesn\'t bend over to get it. He takes his foot, puts it over it. Because of the tred on the bottom of his shoe and the polygonal shape of the usual pencil, when he pulled back, it made a loud, and I mean loud fart noise in the middle of the movie. Everyone and I mean everyone in class turned their heads toward the back looking at us while we were laughing our asses off. We didn\'t stop laughing until the end of the period and even then laughed when we saw eachother in the hallway. That was friggin great. We still reminince about that. It was the funniest thing I remember of last year.

As for a funny moment, I remember this one time when me and one of my buddies tossed this nerdy kid in a trash can (the kind with wheels), we drug it over to my car and my friend grabbed the handle of the trash can through the window of the car, and we drug the can down the street at about 50-60mph. When we finally let the kid out he was crying, the funny thing was that he was about 17, and was bawling his eyes out...... good times, good times.....

In 8th grade, one of my friends was infamous to letting SBD(silent but deadly) farts go and theyd smell horid. So we dared him to do one in class cuz we were in the middle and it would spread. And in about 5 minutes er so of him getting ready, i stopped paying attention thinking he wasnt gunna do it. Then i smelled the worst smell iv EVER....god it was bad....then before the smell got around the room he leaned over to me and said "DUDE, I CRAPPED MY PANTS" and i started to laugh so hard the teacher looked at me, and my friends face was as red as a lobster. Then the smell got around the room and the reaction was priceless. In the end i got a detention but it was well worth it. She felt bad for my friend(just for farting, cuz she thought it was a mistake), and didnt give him one.

Anyways, I have too many to name, but I think I did some fairly amusing stuff in biology class yesterday. We were disecting frogs and I caught off one of its hand then put it on my a pointy thing then went around asking for high-fives. Then my friend caught off its other hand and all of its fingers except the middle one and proceeds to show the teacher it. :laughing: The teacher then tries to take the scalpel from me(when I was holding it in the cutting position) then cuts herself badly then I was like, "Well that\'s what ya get for trying to take a scalpel". She was bleeding but couldn\'t do anything cause it was her mistake. :D

Honestly, I do see your point, Video. If this was his first time or was just an accidental slip up, it could be let go. Correct the situation and him understand what was wrong with his post. However, it\'s been a constant thing and he doesn\'t even care that the subject matter isn\'t funny, as you , yourself noted in your above post.
We\'ve all done stuff morally questionable and stupid when we was young. The fact that we mature and realize what we done was stupid and feel bad about it , or at least most us of do.

I have lost two grandparents to cancer, including my grandfather, whom I was very close with, just a month and a half ago. The fact that someone would not only laugh at something like that, but make a thread basically bragging about it is sickening.

My grandfather had colon cancer I htink before I was born. He survived. Got kemo and I think surgery. The scary thing is, I have a 50% chance on getting it. My dads side doesn\'t have much with cancer or malignant diseases so I\'m praying I have more of his genes. Although, my dad did just get surgury a few weeks ago for a tumor onhis hand.

I just hope all this cancer research proves useful one day before its too late for me. If I found out I have cancer, I seriously probably would blow my brains out if I knew it was terminal. I have a good friend of mine from school. I haven\'t talked to him in a while. He was one of my best friends in middle school. He has leukimia. He was out of school most of last year. They found a match of bone marrow. Lucky for him. Well, it came back. Our school helped out and everything. Holy shit, I was scared. I would be messed up if he died. Well, they found a 100% match. They are going to give it to him in a couple days. I sure hope he pulls through. He\'s been at the school but I haven\'t seen him yet. I now feel like calling him and talking to him. So Vivi, to laugh at someone who has cancer is really disrespectful. You probably will get cancer one day, lose your hair and I hope you get laughed at too so you see how your teacher felt.

My grandfather had cancer, and its not funny. He sits all day in his hospital bed, he is only 70. Most likely he would\'ve had another 10 years, instead he had 10 weeks. He died this summer. Something like this isnt funny at all. A banning can do justice, but their is much worse. If I could, I would beat the living shit out of you.

I, too, probably have a fair shot at getting cancer someday...and the thought scares the shit out of me. My great grandpa fought cancer for over a year, but eventually died after it spread throughout his body, and my uncle just had Colon Cancer, but they got rid of it before it spread. This is all on my dads side of the family, and i have more of my "dads side" in me.
The fact that you try to put sarcasm in your posts is sickening. So yes, take a ****ing hint and leave already.

I guess I\'ve just never really put together all of Vivi\'s comments as coming from the same person, he changed his avvy so much I forget who he is. But I do remember his comments about police, for obvious reasons (me being a popo in training and all)
As for cancer, well my mother had melenoma while she was pregnant with me, and she was told she would die before giving birth. She made it through and all, and I turned out to be a super human.... nonetheless, cancer victims are nothing to laugh at. Unfortunetly for Vivi, that teacher didn\'t tell her husband/brother/other protector, because I think that if Vivi would recieved the beating he had deserved he would have turned out to be a batter person for it.

Well back in subject, back in 8th, I had a weird science teacher. He used to try to rap, and hit himself on the head with the table. Once, my friend brought a Playboy to school, the nurse came and took all the guys to check our spines or something.
We came back the magazines were gone, the girls told us the teacher had took them. We went up to him, and he said he turned them into the Police lady cop that was there. So my friend went after school to get them, and well the cop never got anything...
That\'t not the funny part, once we got this big bottle of gatorade, emptied it, and we filled with with vinigar(sp) dumped a whole box of baking soda.
We left it back in the room, the teacher didn\'t noticed then, it popped and made a big stain on the ceiling, and the chicks that were back there started screaming...HAHAHAHAHAHa it would be funnier if you were there.
Well, thank god none of my family members have cancer or had cancer. What ViVi said, wasn\'t really funny to me, and im pretty easily amused. But, im not really pissed or anything, probably because you all know people that have cancer. Personally, I\'ve never met anyone with cancer. I wish I would of been around for the racist thread, I love arguing with racist motha****as.

Guys, I DON\'T respect Vivi\'s beliefs as much as the next forum goer (another officer to be, and I respect cancer), but at the same time, he\'s not doing or saying anything illegal, just immoral. Welcome to the real world, there are a great many people out there who, by most people\'s standards, suck. They still have as much right to be here as us...

Bit late to join this thread, but man, that was far from funny.
My dad actually died of liver cancer 6 years back when I was only 14, and its taken me this long to really get over it.
Cancer scares me too, i found a lump under my nipple a few months back, took me 3 months to have the balls to go to the doctors, luckily, it turns out it was from drinking too much and smokin the wacky baccy! Was a huge relief when they told me that

Actually, they don\'t. This is a private community, with private ownership. Being here isn\'t a right, it\'s a privilege. If there is someone who sucks, by the forum\'s standards, then the owners of the forum have every right to kick them out.

Except he\'s not breaking any forum rules. Swearing, for instance could get him banned, avoiding filters, piracy. The only one with subjective powers are the mods, and I for one hope they DON\'T use it.
If you like free thought, and free idea expression, you have to be willing to tolerate hearing things that make you angry, or things that are different in viewpoint from what you believe. If not, then by all means, start up a board, and run it however you like, ban those who have different or "wrong" viewpoints. I can tolerate almost any viewpoint I hear, and it doesn\'t mean I have to agree with it (there are limits, and luckily the law enforces the worst of that kind of offence). Banning opposing viewpoints won\'t make them go away.

Again, it was stated earlier that it really wasn\'t his comments (though they were horrible), but the disrespect he showed when he responded to people\'s anger. There wasn\'t an apology, there was just sarcasm, and that was very much unappreciated.

Why would he apologise if he doesn\'t believe he has done something wrong? I might have a right wing viewpoint on an issue, for instance, and if I were in a crowd of left wing views (lets say, oh, on sentencing for sex offenders), I WOULDN\'T apologize for having a different viewpoint.
I also NEVER feel the need to apologize for stupid stuff I said/did when I was 12 or 13. I did a lot of stupid stuff, and if I told someone about something, and they were offended, I would probably just say something to the order of "yeah, I was an immature kid when I was 12"... something along the lines of what he wrote.

One could very easily make the arguement that his posting in this and other topics was not using common sense. One could also argue that he has abused the boards with some of his actions.

There\'s a difference. You\'re talking about arguing with somebody about politics. Vivi has blatantly given disreguard to people\'s family members, and a horribly debilitating disease. This isn\'t a viewpoint, it\'s the audacity to laugh at the disease and people who have it. I don\'t know if you\'re trying to play Devils Advocate here or not, and I never said that Vivi SHOULD be banned, but I feel that he was out of line with his comments.

1) Yeah, I am playing devil\'s advocate a bit here. :evil:
2) He hasn\'t actually said anything in this thread disrespectful towards cancer, or the disease. Just the opposite, he has stated that he knows how tough it is. People are mad because they don\'t like his reaction to a situation that occured back when he was in grade 6, where he did something insensitive. The fact that he won\'t apologize for it is making people angry, but he isn\'t saying anything funny about cancer, or saying it \'isn\'t important\', and his refusal to apologize for something stupid he did way back when is a personal choice, and one I don\'t disagree with. There are a lot of immature grade six kids out there, go and talk to some. Most kids just don\'t have a fully matured moral compass at that age, and as such we don\'t hold them fully accountable for their stupid actions. :confused:
