Title: Do you smoke?
Post by: Seed_Of_Evil on January 11, 2003, 07:58:57 AM: Europe is starting to ban the tobacco in a couple of years in some places, like public rooms, work stations, and such these places. It should be very similar to USA: public places = tobacco prohibition. And I\'ll be very happy, why? I\'m an anti-tobacco person. I hate those who sits next to you and blow the smoke towards your face. I hate \'em!

So i just wanna know how many people smoke here, and if you\'re ok with these laws.

As for the new laws, I\'m all for it personally, it\'s about time something was done.

Tobacco advertising is already outlawed in the UK, and it will be banned from Formula 1 racing very soon too. Looks like some of the racing teams will have to find new sponsors.

If in a restaurant wait till meal is done then go outside. I don\'t understand how people can eat and smoke at the same time anyway.
Just because it is my habit, others should not be made to put up with it if they don\'t want to. Smoking a little rope every now and then never hurt anyone :smokin:

No contest. Weed is virtually harmless. Those that say it is know next to nothing about the substance and just believe what society says about it without researching it.

As for topic, I smoked for a while and quit about seven months ago.

As for the smoking bans starting to take place everywhere. I support them in resturants and offices, etc. In clubs, bars and lounges however, I am against that. I also think each owner should be able to set his own laws regarding smoking.

i dont think it makes me cool, shit i KNOW im cool, i dont need smokes for that.

but your right about one thing, i tried it to try it, and i got addicted.

it SUCKS being addicted like this cause i dont want to smoke my whole life. but as of right now, i enjoy smoking.

i know what im in for when i try to quit... its gonna be the hardest thing ill ever do.

I personally only smoke occasionally, and in the privacy of my own home (pipe, cigar, and the green). Many cities in my province (Ontario, Canada) are now going smoke free. There were huge fights about it at first from bar and club owners, but the last year has been SUPER sweet, as you no longer have to quarantine and launder all clothing after coming back from a night out on the town. While in general I respect peoples wishes, especially with what they want to do in their own homes, I still haven\'t completely formulated an opinion on whether they should completely ban smoking. After all, I enjoy it on occasion, and I don\'t want to infringe on people\'s rights, but it also costs our society in medical bills, and can cause family hardship.

Weed is unfiltered, so it means your lungs get the smoke more directly; HOWEVER, cannibus whether home grown or bought is usually \'clean\'. That means that even though the smoke isn\'t good for you, it is missing many of the by-products and carcinogens that are added to mass-produced cigarettes (Tar, arsenic, cyanide, rubber, iodine, etc).

I also have never met anyone who smoked 3 or more joints EVERY DAY, but I\'ve met a great many smokers who smoke 1 1/2 or 2 packs a day (what\'s that? 24 cigs? 36?), every day, for years.

The benefits of marijuana are the high, apetite, reduction in nausea, pain killing (A young boy in chemo last year in Ottawa made the paper because his parents gave him weed before and after the treatments, it meant that instead of vomiting and being in a wheelchair, he would walk to the car and ask to go to McDonalds!). Cigarettes can reduce apetite, and generally mellow you out.

It should also be noted that cannibus is a stimulant rather than a depressant (unlike alchohol), so it doesn\'t adversly affect the autoimmune system.

As for gateway drug... well, I don\'t belive that, I belive that certain people (for a variety of reasons) will end up on harsh drugs, whether they get there through cannibus or not, and others will never get there. I for one won\'t ever do any mind-altering, hallucigenic, or instant-habit drugs (until I\'m 80 and on my death bed that is... boy what a night that\'s gonna be!!).
